When my kids were young, I talked a lot about how difficult being a teenager is.
The changes they will face, how much they will resent myself and their mother, etc.
When the time came, we had that bridge and they understood that what they were going through was completely normal, and I wasn't their enemy.
Still had its struggles, but I learned that preparation of what life will throw at them is key.
