I got particular good insight from his book 'Fiat Standard'. When I learned how wrong the incentive structures are nowadays, it leveled up my appreciation for the Bitcoin movement by a magnitude.

Correct, echo chambers are the worst it can do. But then in some clients, you can disable the web of trust filters. It's up to you. Relays don't allow you to choose though.

It's more of an sociological challenge than algorithmically. Honestly, I don't think it's about a side to pick but rather where you find yourself on the whole spectrum.

Ohh that doesn’t seem inherently bad if it goes off of the users preferences but I don’t see why it has to have anything to do with whether or not other people like you… that feels really high schoolish.

If I like certain things and mute others why wouldn’t that be the only thing that impacts my feed. I don’t get what other people’s opinions have to do with anything. Like if someone doesn’t like me because I say things that make them uncomfortable that’s more of a them issue and not a me issue, right?

The filters are visible on the Security filters menu on the left.

Veritas is just mad that his spam of 100s of posts got him labeled as spammer by many apps and many relays.

I think the security list is pretty transparent. I think there's value to a spam fee experience and also to free speech. The question is if repeating the identical message over and over again is speech I want in my inbox.

but the TLDR is, if a user gets many reports, the Amethyst dev will automatically block that user so Amethyst users can't see the person. THis is bad because we have bots that file report automatically and Twitter refugees file stupid reports alll the time for wrongthink
