Today is the day when the company behind Wasabi Wallet
will be shutting down. So it is time to tell you my story, of how it all started and how it all ended, a personal side of the Wasabi Wallet saga in this chapter of the Privacy Wars.

It all started with a message in my DMs that Wasabi Wallet have sent me, saying they would like to talk to me about a opportunity to contribute to the company and collaborate actively. Little did I know this was a hidden job opportunity for me that will fully drag me into the privacy wars. With my relationship already shambolic with Scamourai Wallet and their zombie hordes, it was a logical decision to join a side of the war, the implied winning side, but did I know nobody will be a winner in this war but a loser on all fronts.
On the 25th of September, 2021, I started working at Wasabi Wallet after a short negotiation and discussion in the role of Community and Reputation Management for zkSNACKs Ltd. Although it was obvious my role was much more broad so this was just a fancy keyword for everything.

I had to solve many obstacles and provide critical feed back for individuals working at the company starting in the early days but as we progressed my role at the company have diminished and personal differences made it difficult to get around or be acknowledged.
I still remember within my first week I managed to yank nopara73
out of his comfort zone and get him to get on a boring train ride to Paralelni Polis, his first ever Hacker's Congress that I convinced him to attend and I am sure he never got to regret it.

This was one of the best conference experience I had that I was able to attend with a friend, never had this chance before, but it was quite fun. I'm proud to call him a friend even to this day long after I have separated away from Wasabi.

The overall progress at the company focused on developing WabiSabi, Wasabi Wallet 2.0 which hit many obstacles, developer disagreements, personality incompatibilities, no-coiners in the company and financial interests. We had to ditch a Google employee that worked at us also.

Nostr isn't dead.
BREAKING: zkSNACKs to Suspend Its Coinjoin Coordination Service on June 1st

I'm really upset about Wasabi. This is a full pussy move imho but I understand why they are doing it, every developer or employee there have family or kids to take care of, it was not the idea way to run the company, it would have needed employees with no family or kids to fight it the real way.
I dont want drive chain shitcoins on bitcoin
I decided to post here my Wasabi Wallet story.
I'm going to continue developing #Wasabi. I'm not talking about maintainance only but actual development.
Of course that without coinjoins there won't be any significant income, if any, to pay my salary, or at least no in the middle/long term, however that sets a clear goal for the short term: downsize it all. It doesn't sound great, but it is.
Wasabi was born as a light bitcoin wallet but with the time it became bigger and bigger. But now, zkSNACKs won't run the coinjoin coordinator anymore, all what is corporate-ish, such as Terms and Conditions, Web site, chainanalysis integration, affiliation integration, etc, etc, can finally be removed. All what made the code complex and that was great for marketing like "plebs don't pay", "friends don't pay" can finally be removed.
Wasabi needs to be also downsized to be maintainable for a couple of guys and that means we can remove things that are still there for reasons that I don't agree with, like the "password finder" among many others. I started doing that a few years ago in what I called Wasabito (little Wasabi) but then I went back to contribute to Wasabi, anyway, here you can have a better idea of what I had, and still have, in mind: https://github.com/lontivero/Wasabito/commits/master/

These opinions are my own and I don't know whether zkSNACks decision making team agrees with me or not. Anyway, it is what I think should be done.
I’m here to help you. Let’s get things rolling again in a new privacy era!
I only care about sat count increasing every time I get paid bitcoin 😂
Sue the shit out of the government.
Why did you expect dude, plus all the retards who appeal for crime authority or clout, especially worse if they develop privacy software and their stupid ass behavior sets a court precedent that royally fucks us all over, right?
Plus in addition always wish the worse upon all your opponents just in case your assholery leads you into the same cesspit of crap you have wanted to see others in.
/sarcasmoff
But anyway!

Kinda there are some parts in it about privacy yes though
