None of us have enough AI Charles Dickens + nostr:npub1cj8znuztfqkvq89pl8hceph0svvvqk0qay6nydgk9uyq7fhpfsgsqwrz4u in our lives!!!

Fair! I def haven't made the hard cutover yet.

I go back and forth on this, but have more tended against auto re-formatters.

For example, there are just some lines where I prefer the clarity of keeping the whole line intact, even if it violates some max width formatter preference.

Though if the config is robust enough, a formatter could probably be customized for a lighter, more permissive touch where desired.

Oh, wait, total brain fart there!! I got it exactly backwards.

SPACEBAR seems to have defeated my formerly beloved TABs.

This indentation battle has left me completely discombobulated.

I must be twittering wrong.

TFW you find tabs in your source code.

I used to be a SPACEBAR maxi, but had to conform for the normie day job. Nowadays it seems like the TAB camp has won the war.

I have fully capitulated.

I can vouch for nostr:npub1r7psmkr4zv93xnal8un6d8hvmpsn5jvhfzn3kk38rfcel6awznks7znspg and his hardware/IT chops. He's helped level up my node / home server / Proxmox game. I'm running two refurbished laptops he sourced for me and two more powerful used mini PCs that I bought once I knew more about what to look for.

I found a code snippet that does EXACTLY what I was looking for. While reading through it I thought, "Oof, thank goodness. I don't know if I could have figured this out myself!"

...only to realize hours later that it was a fork of a snippet that -- wait for it -- I WROTE!! 😂

Keith in the past is often so much smarter than Keith in the present.

* I slightly overpaid (🤣) for the bones from my regular local grocery store ($2.50-$3/lb). They don't reliably have them in stock so I just buy them and freeze them when I can find them (they're with the other cellophaned meats).

* Roast them for 20min per side @ 450°F.

* Start heating up water + 2Tbs white vinegar in the instant pot.

* Chop in some carrot and celery (no other seasonings tho 'cause doggos).

* Drop in the bones and make sure they're totally submerged.

* Pressure cook for 2-2.5hrs.

* Natural release w/out heat (~40min?) until the pressure bottoms out.

* Strain the bones, veggies, detritus. I keep any meaty bits; they're mostly tasteless but I save them to mix into omelettes.

* Pour into mason jars.

* Run cool water around them.

* Loosely cover with cap, put in fridge.

* Later: skim off the congealed fat.

* Freeze most of the jars.

Serving:

* Put a spoonful in a small bowl w/a tiny bit of water.

* Microwave for 15s.

* Pour over dog food.

I've said this before, but finding new, interesting FOSS projects and seeing your changes get merged in NEVER GETS OLD!!!

Still pretty sure I'll splurge on a laser engraver before a 3D printer!

Gotta write down my "bitcoin at $100k" shopping list before I start forgetting things!

Oooh, I keep forgetting that Github Copilot can do more than I tend to ask of it!

tfw you wish the explanatory code comments had comments.

If Dickens had been alive in the modern era, he would have been a screenwriter. He was so cinematic -- before such a thing even existed.
