I live in Northern Ohio with my family. We raise ducks for eggs to sell & eat. My interests include raising ducks, gardening, cryptocurrency, and precious metals. We make and sell fresh-made meat-based dog- and cat-food.

Good night/morning, Maria! Enjoy the weekend with your family. We'll be gathering with family on Sunday. I really should turn in for the night, but I had been chasing down answers to questions I was running into with this new computer build, and I wanted to catch up on the day's news (not that if makes much difference in my life....) Oh well. Talk to you later.

nostr:nprofile1qyshwue69uhh2mtzwfjkctn5v95kccnzxvmxvtn5wvhxuet58g6rsdpcqyt8wumn8ghj7ct5d3shxtnwdaehgu3wd3skueqqyqvsk97gmvd4vfsp95vrc7hgnvtrp77alllgaddjfr66cv9wr4u9k9wsx9a - How long does it take to download the BTC blockchain? It has taken several days to get to 52.79% downloaded.

I have Verizon Unlimited wireless (not 5G) internet at the house, because it is my only option other than DSL (GAG). They say there is not data cap on my usage, but the download speed has dropped significantly (time per block...). I am at block 277923 and it is taking between 20 sec. & over a minute to download a block.

My internet speed is 21.46 Mbs/s down / 11.09Mb/s up. (Speedtest.net)

Once this download is complete, I'm going to copy the folder to another drive and store it as an archive so I don't have to do the whole download again... This is a great optopn to build from scratch, but a little forethought and preparation will prevent me from the agonizing wait in the future.

Well said!

I have enjoyed chatting, but I need to go. (I have ducks to let into their yard, and I have to finish building a computer for my friend.)

I’m told that I don’t sound kind when I discuss things, so, please know I meant no offense, and did not intend to make anyone angry.

I hope you all have a wonderful day & weekend!šŸ˜€

I agree with nostr:npub13kwjkaunpmj5aslyd7hhwnwaqswmknj25dddglqztzz29pkavhaq25wg2a - the internet makes it so easy to make a living, whether it be by finding a job, selling items online, finding side jobs. Those tools didn’t exist for GenX. And Dad was born in the ā€˜50’s (before they totally devalued the nation’s money).

But it sounds like you’re falling into what I call the trap of ā€œPoor-mouthing.ā€ My grandparents - great, hardworking farming family - did this. It was always ā€œthe manā€ or unfavorable circumstances that held them back. They were farmers by profession, and were wealthy if you considered the value of the property they owned, but there was always someone who had it better than they did… And I believe that same attitude allows many to justify their own failures.

My (Boomer) dad worked very hard for what he has. He added to society through the two businesses he started, and within the two trades (Tool& Die Maker and Stationary Steam Engineer - Journeyman in both trades) he practiced in his career.

Many from his generation grew wealthy because they were willing to do the work. When I hear people complain about the wealth gap, I am always curious what they did to earn the wealth!

To those who complain about income/wealth inequality, I have this to say: Learn from, and apply the principles taught by Dave Ramsey and Mike Rowe. They're not perfect, but their advice will make you wealthy if you choose to follow it.

I showed to my family & everybod enjoyed seeing. Thank you for sharing!

Good morning, NOSTR friends! I hope you’re well! The current temp where I am in Northern Ohio is 61, and we’re expecting a high today of 78! The Weather Channel App says it will be windy today, so it is probably a great day to fly kites.

After tending the ducks I’ll be inside building the computer I was hoping to build yesterday.

This weekend we celebrate Resurrection Day & Passover (for those of the Christian and Jewish faiths).

I hope you have a great day! And remember, every day is a gift! See ya tonight!

Well, NOSTR, it is time for me to start heading for bed. I got a lot done today, and finished out the day with going to the stable to watch my kiddo do a favorite thing - riding horseback. And we finished off the night around a bonfire eating Mac n’ cheese & hotdogs with snores and toasted marshmallows for dessert. Now they’re getting ready for bed/in bed, and I’m about to put water on the dying coals and head to bed myself. The new MOBO arrived this evening so I’ll be building my neighbor’s PC tomorrow. Goodnight, friends!

Pro tip: when FakeBook tells you there is a problem with your listing (wood files & rasps, metal files & awls) delete the posting. (They flagged it as a ā€œweaponsā€ listing.) Because at some point they cut your access to sell & buy on Marketplace. Now I’m getting a headache from finding out how/if it can be restored.
