One real advantage of the #Nostr protocol is that it allows posts without a character limit, even for basic accounts. It's liberating to share thoughts without constraints!

not a single thread, post, or conversation on this network is interesting enough for a regular person to stay for long. Only 5 or 10 people constantly post the same stuff over and over again. There cannot be a more boring place than this one so far.

#nostr

It feels like people on #Nostr live in an imagined world.

interesting. i posted a reply but it did not show up in the reply thread to original note. i tried gain. no luck. is it block or mute? something new to learn about how Nostr operates.

reposting. first post says something happens to the thread, it vanished. not sure what.

yes, sats are short for satoshi. but what is zaps? are sats and zaps related? who is getting it how and when?

What is ths zaps and how it works within Nostr ecosystem? is it native reward system? you buy it?

I think it would be better if every user received, say, 20 reward points for certain activities in Nostr (such as logging in, making notes, etc.). Users could then reward each other with these points if they like someone’s notes.

If Nostr becomes popular and new users want a quick head start, they could buy these points directly through a peer-to-peer market or auction style within Nostr. They could use these points to gain followers, among other things.

Since points are initially awarded for activity and contributions, their resale to new users later would not be considered a securities sale.

The application of securities law is relatively simple, especially when discussing ICOs, NFTs, and coins. It primarily involves the well-known and well-understood Howey test, combined with the sophistication of the buyer. That’s all.

Anyone who is heavily involved in the crypto world and claims not to know whether coins or NFTs are securities is simply not being honest with the public. Almost every book on crypto history clearly shows that promoters knew their products were considered securities in the U.S., as their legal advisors consistently informed them, according to these books.

No, art is not a security. Similarly, if you buy shoes or bags that are promoted, they are not securities either. It’s about whether the seller creates an ecosystem that makes a specific painting, bag, or pair of shoes more valuable.

The artist who painted a piece of art did not do so specifically to increase its value for you. It might increase in value, but not because the artist did something for you.

Similarly, Adidas or Nike do not do anything specifically to make your shoes more valuable after you purchase them.

NFTs can be viewed as security if it is promoted by issuer. the central point is what determines nft price: external market forces or promoters? that's all. don't promote, just sell.

🧵 what is icon?

It's a breath of fresh air that one can post a note with a text longer than 250 characters on #Nostr, and it's free. Feels so liberating 😊
