[ENG/GER] NOT a bitcoiner/stacker/maxi. I am here to have a damn good time! Rabbithole conniseur; I enjoy random stuff. :D Ex-Furry, (close to) blind, hobby developer/sysadmin, waifu enjoyer, long hair fetish (#hairjob). I sometimes talk about NSFW stuff; because fucking is fun =) (DMs always open.)

Cookie banners and data safety consent popups make me fkn mad, insane, crazy and hateful within the split of a microsecond that i recognize them. My passionate hate for those can hardly be described...

I had heared of the "Dead Internet Theory" while i had my mid-year depression over the state of the internet and all the things that I had lost, because some corpos said so.

With the massive growth and investment into AI, I am legitimately worried that this theorem is becoming more and more real.

And I am not looking forward to that...

Which gen are we smashing?

They did? o.o Didn't realize...

Owell. I overspecced and now have a 4090 - i'd be mildly surprised and miffed if it didnt work. xD

You can say whatever you want. Proof?

Dicks! Porn! Sex!

Nobody here can shadow ban you for anything. The individual users can mute you (= self moderation!) but thats that. o.o

Yes, that is correct. Unfortunately, by default, Nix uses dynamic libraries and their FULL package (man pages and everything included).

I later learned of pkgsStatic; an overlay in nixpkgs that focuses entirely on static things. With that, and then using nix-store -qa $folder, I saw MUCH less garbage inbetween. So, pkgsStatic (or perhaps pkgsMusl, also a thing) is a good solution for using a multi stage docker container with Nix - this way, it only returns what you really and actually need.

But, I am also still learning... ^^'

I recently did something similar with GoCD (https://www.gocd.org/). It's not as comfortable as Azure DevOps but it's FOSS.

I don't have the money for Azure or such - I'm very much a leech on free services, everywhere. ^^; And also I do prefer selfhosting - that way, if something breaks, there is only one person to blame. :)

Thank you for the pointer, I will give it a look! ^^

Yes, hi. nostr:npub1tcekjparmkju6k83r5tzmzjvjwy0nnajlrwyk35us9g7x7wx80ys9hjmky have you considered GitHub triggers with Jenkins? You could setup build jobs for exactly what you want, and they could be triggered by new commits or releases.

Wait, that's a thing? :O

I knew of workflows in the .github/ directory - but I didn't know of triggers like that. Thank you for the pointer, I will look this up!

And thats fine :) If everyone agreed on everything, it'd be quite boring, no? ^^

There is something satisfying about dropping into a discord server and just flooding it with the results of my work. I even compiled new versions of RetroArch and other components (currently working on libretro cores) and just ... leaving again xD

Feels good to know what im doing, and for those things to work so well. ^^

I have not played a single #Touhou game. But I have listened to so many remixes... idk where ZUN is these days but by god did he make a masterpiece that the community just absolutely CARRIES. <3

#asknostr #devstr I want to set up a build server that automatically recognizes new commits/tags/releases (depending on the repo) and runs a predefined set of scripts to build them. In my case, I want to produce ARM builds where there are none and then publish them.

Examples:

- The WebOS Brew toolchain

- strfry ARM Docker images

- dinit builds and OpenWrt packages (I haven't made effords to merge it into upstream yet, so its a local build)

There might be more in the future, but i want to start somewhere.

Got any ideas?

So I learned, that rclone can in fact ALSO act as a FTP server. Just use "rclone serve ftp ..." - good to know. Now, with a few more units created, my TV's RetroArch just got absolutely supercharged... my NAS is mounted as a pseudo USB device (anything in /tmp/usb is treated as one) and thus, RetroArch can access my well synced saves and ROMs! XD This is STUPIDLY crazy O.O

https://void.cat/d/55toqAU4htV1phPSBm1Ba3.webp

Next step: Using a network internal strfry server to send notifications, have the TV pick them up and show them as notifications on my screen - actually something I could do with nak + jq. Let's go! :D

Reading those docs feels like traveling back in time.

Remember public FTPs? xD

I cross-compiled this to set up an FTP server on my TV - but I feel like this might have been... overkill... for a choice.

https://github.com/jedisct1/pure-ftpd/

Revisiting to use dinit on my TV to manage services (Mainly Syncthing and mounting the USB drive) by compiling it with this: https://github.com/webosbrew/native-toolchain

The build actually succeeded... first try. o.o Now I have to re-find the proper docs and then plug my stuff in there and be good to go :3
