I said, I would post a riscy note :D
Too bad there is no 'client' tag or something - then again, its only really useful for eye-candy and indirect bragging which client you use - lol.
Anywayser. o.o
Duuuuude you can see the literal traces on this MCU :o

I am learning more about RISC-V - although I do want to focus on "riscv64", since that is what I have at hand now.
By the way; Tailscale compiles for that, because Go can target it. That's actually nuts. o.o Let me compile nak, and send a very riscy note. :D
... I'll find me some storage, and then I'll pull a Jeff Gearling.
https://rvspace.org/en/project/VisionFive2_Debian_User_Guide
Can I simulate that, somehow?
I mean ... I could also just compile BitcoinD, link it to my i2p and tor, and let it rip. But unfortunately, I don't have another 500GB to spare at the moment... My biggest storage is still in-flight since two days now x.x
Credit where it's due. The StarFive guys are working on getting the whole board into upstream - which means, no more "so we made this kernel image that you put here". This is actually huge, since practically no ARM board really has that. You do have upstream in Armbian and such, but you will basically always have a compromise or two.
They are attempting to just ... not have any, at all. o.o Amazing.

Welp, guess I am not replacing my proprietary SAT>IP server, just yet... xD
https://github.com/starfive-tech/linux/issues/134
This took wwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too long, and I honestly doubt that I am going to see any answer to this post. So, tomorrow - or some time - I will learn how to compile their kernel and tools, allowing me to just... make my own image. x.x
That said, at least I can just read the u-boot docs for information. ^-^
Bummer; looks like tvheadend uses an old subtree of ffmpeg. Oh well, can't be changed. o.o
VisionFive2, actually. 8GB RAM and stuff. Really nice piece of kit. I want to see how far I can take it alongside my fleet of RockChip boards. ^^
lul, not wrong. But no, SSH'd into a risc-v box. quite excite. ^-^
ARM has all the limelight in embedded devices, but is /rife/ with proprietary BS. Most of these ARM chips don't even allow directly booting into u-boot, reqiiring you to load their closed-source BL on your storage. Well that, and a few other things...
So, gonna try out how nice and easy it is to do RISC-V stuff.
i doubt this board could do Minecraft well, which is the only reason I ever install java lmao XD
Newp, risc-v board ^-^
my tiniest screw driver bit had issues hitting the dipswitches to change to SD boot... x.x Buuuuuuuut i will have to do it again, because it has a legit M.2 m-key at the bottom O.O So I will buy a smol SSD for that boi later. For now, microSD for boot should suffice.
Notice something? (:
7.8TiB across a 1Gbit network at SATA-II speeds.
Welp! Good thing `screen` exists. xD Time to sleep.
This'll ... eventually be done?
Okay, screw OMV; not in the repos.
Cockpit it is.
Got my StarFive2 and HDDs for my NAS - which runs armbian!
This was soooooooo hard to build X.x I underestimated how huge 3.5" HDDs would be in the NAS Case by Pine64 but ohhhh my god x.x I have to think of a good way to route the cables, they are right next to the fan xD aaaaaaaa-
Anywayser, time to install OMV!
Someone, at some point, entered an IP as an OTP string and the passwd string as a note in my company's password manager.
I can't understand,
I can't comprehend,
I can't compensate,
I can't swear enough,
I can't (...)
help.
I need to find a better way to reseed my #i2pd instances; it very, very often fails to do so downloading .su3 files.
But I am also quite far in learning Rust for Dropstr. Hopefuly in the future I can leverage Nostr for stuff like this. :)
That said; scouting relay hints is an amazing way to very quickly discover a CRAPTON of relays, oh my god. o.o
Thursday, so close to friday. Another week is almost over. ^-^
Let's see if today works out or not. I am starting to go to work for a little longer than usual in the next few weeks in which my parents aren't here to take me places and where I have to gawk at a calender to see who can pick me up where and such. x.x Having to rely on others for transport /sucks/. One of the biggest, most annoying downsides of being almost blind... In so many occasions, you have to rely on others, because there aren't other, or better, or self-sovereign options. Bleh. x.x
