I worked on the very first prototype (for single use applications) which would eventually lead to the specification that would mature into the form factor that would inform what people know today as "iPhone apps".

Bluetooth audio normalized tolerance of low latency and audio drops in the same way mp3 normalized lossy audio and smashed audio formats.
Bottomline: You need a wired hi res audio setup for critical listening, you really have no idea how much more enjoyable it is to stream hi res 192 kHz sample rate audio content in Apple Music than trying to have a “Pro” experience using AirPods Pro (or Max)

I can’t stand Zane Lowe by the way, I think he’s a terrible mouthpiece for Apple Music. Apple should just let designers talk about music they like instead of creating music personalities like MTV needed to do in the 80s.
Much of my inspiration for designing the first instances of playlist sharing with Apple iMix were inspired by this aeshetic.
Fun fact: Apple's iMix was the first time playlist sharing was made possible in a digital interface.
