why the violently positive not able to allow the possibility that X getting rid of blocks might be setting up for integration with some open protocol that shares the values built in here?

at this point, maybe surface relevant api’s so something like nostr:npub1strjkeqqz3x6uuqzjvefa5dnql0ccl9wpttvmezvvv622uxarl0q99fpjm can exist and devs and clients (as well as internally) could compete for the best way to implement, probably more future proof too.

when I read Reddit like, or approximate Facebook on nostr… my expectations are really low. When someone finally builds a discord like client I hope they completely avoid the comparison and let the product evoke that in the user. Not that new different things are bad, but missing the mark in comparative ux is my default expectation from nostr devs currently.

I do prefer something like damus’ connection count, that changes dynamically based on what relays you connected too. But it’s still just potential. I think possibly a who’s online could be interesting, or just a count of who’s directly connect the the relays your publishing directly too… but also possibly aggressive towards people who are happy to mostly passively consume.

so with the #nostrscript fix, do I retire #sideus ?

I think for topic relays to gain traction the clients need to do more hand holding, and not pulling from main relay list, so the relay op requires a bit less moderation of irrelevancy, for it to work and be worth it to set up a topic specific relay. Would be nice to see a relay implementation that would let me set up multiple topics using the same resource.

I know that post is really about use of force… but it’s just wild that it’s second to nypd, LA & SF combined is still just 11% the size of the state, which is about the same percentage that New York State comes in second to the city.

the only client that lets me specify a relay is nos social. would be interesting to see an implementation that instead of directly choosing a relay from my main list, it presents it as post as ā€œtopicā€ and thats a relay isn’t held in metadata, or at least not the main list, so I don’t submit notes that are off topic when I use any other client that doesn’t allow per post granularity.

on nostr, distributing through nostr:npub1yfg0d955c2jrj2080ew7pa4xrtj7x7s7umt28wh0zurwmxgpyj9shwv6vg and participating in nostr:npub1stemstrls4f5plqeqkeq43gtjhtycuqd9w25v5r5z5ygaq2n2sjsd6mul5

outside of here, the hustle is targeting the right playlists curators and consistently submitting, dont spam but also don’t move on if you get skipped over if the playlist is truly the right fit, eventually you’ll hit the inbox at the time they sit through to fill in the gaps. Don’t submit to paid playlists, but if you have access wining and dining curators does work. It’s unfortunate this is the state of music promotion currently.

on the other hand, unlike rsslay that doesn’t do much with nostr content coming in… it just births content here. blasting to mostr does bring it there. I haven’t gotten much interaction from that, although some of the communities I would interact with, fosstadon (ex.) aren’t apart of the most. :fatpikachu:

oh but I’d you only blocked mostr.nip5 and still blasted to it šŸ˜…

yeah but If someone really needs them it exists on a specific relay for a reason

isn’t the point to add the mostr relay? Same goes for the rss relay. So yeah it’s fine.
