Solaris is kinda known of doing various things differently, although still according to UNIX standards.

From Sun machines I have only touched some Ultra workstation, friend of me had bought two of them in eBay somewhere in mid-2000s (he was a big fan of SPARC as a CPU arch).

About truncating passwords - I remember Windows doing something similar in Windows 98 / Windows NT4 times. Or was it NetBIOS specific? Donโ€™t remember exact details now.

Good story! nostr:note1m4aqzslghfpw2z0a306278vl8equpef8khassf557u67ea9ge6ws9v22fh

Ohh, I remember this! Back in a day bugs in CPUs werenโ€™t found so often, they werenโ€™t so security critical and even then Intel was forced at the end of the day to fix the issue and recall buggy CPUs (this werenโ€™t fixable by microcode update as patchable microcode was introduced only in next generation P6 CPUs, following lesson from this bug). nostr:note16fqy5s6pj4aqlm5f82jk5cqcg2ntlcsn7n6jzuclrvua47wyp02sezmgns

Don't think that "weird system" would work in practice. That would require using some other tool to open issues, add comments, etc. Frequent contributors could use it, yes, but some user who wants to open his first issue or comment from time to time will likely not want to do that. GitHub has big network effect currently. But maybe some monitoring could be used that would detect API changes, that something is not right (some fields missing or something not having new data for suspicious long time period, for example).

Thinking maybe to experiment with this for JoinMarket-Org/joinmarket-clientserver.

I knew Iron Maiden live from Wacken will be great. But โ€œBlood Brothersโ€ dedicated to Ronny James Dio was special!

Insight from PRC about Bitcoin and HWWs. SeedSigner and other self assembled devices have use case there. nostr:note16y8n3838s20gggns99a0f63esjjyfcculuzr6vdqekuk0qnme6pqtaerzg

Ok, they are kinda anonymous. Unless you have multiple reactions in a short amount of time, you can correlate them with Zapple Pay zaps.

I opened a PR for JoinMarket to drop Python 3.6 support. If somebody has arguments against doing this, please comment there. https://github.com/JoinMarket-Org/joinmarket-clientserver/pull/1512 #Bitcoin #Privacy
