A message for everyone, but above all for those who, despite being here, are using iOS or MacOS:

MacOS and iOS are proprietary garbage, aimed at uneducated and ignorant people who don't know anything about computers, operating systems or IT. This garbage is based on secret code, which cannot be audited or syndicated. The Apple ecosystem works like a kind of walled garden, where users can't grow new plants, nurture and care for existing ones, use the tools they want or remove weeds, and from which they can't even get out, vegetating there like serfs of the soil, with their most basic rights, such as those concerning their security and privacy and the choice of software and platforms to use, or those relating to changing operating systems and the syndication, modification and distribution of source code, severely curtailed, or even eliminated.

In this highly centralized and closed ecosystem, Apple plays the role of supposedly benevolent dictator, watching over everything, controlling everything and storing in its silos/cloud everything that the serfs of the land produce, including their personal data and that of the people with whom they interact...

Now for the supreme irony: to my amazement, Nostr is full of people who, despite using closed, secret code, proprietary and totally centralized systems and infrastructures, come here to boast that they are now free and independent because they are using a decentralized, community-based and open source social network.

Let's stop being hypocritical or naive: using a free social network is a drop of water in the ocean that leads to the harbor of freedom, independence, innovation, autonomy, collaboration and emancipation. We need to do much more than that: it is imperative to use free software exclusively, starting with operating systems...

Using Nostr from iOS, MacOS or Windows is like using LibreOffice or GIMP on a proprietary operating system, like trading Bitcoins only to convert it all into fiat currency or like boasting about the conquered freedom when you've never got out of prison.
