For those surprised about Target's bullshit, you should not be. They showed who they were over 15 years ago when they kicked The Salvation Army out of their stores at Christmas and stated that they donated to groups who among other things were pro LGBT, there was no Q or + a the time, so long ago. When you toss one of the true genuine charities that actually helps people in favor of leftist and woke causes, your die is cast.

We just had Victoria Day in Canada, many see it as just another long weekend and it has been dubbed “May Long” here in Alberta and has lost its meaning to most.

A question for my American friends: what does Memorial Day mean to you? Is it significant or is it just another long weekend?

The week winds down. Into a Labor Day weekend. A day when the weary take a moment to relax from the wheel of work. The cogs, joints, buckles, screws, spindles, and tape holding the workforce together.

Doing their best to keep the flow of industry. All the varying nuance it requires.

I'm employed in production manufacturing. I make piece parts. I break down, set up and program tool paths and chamfers. These finished components go to larger assemblies of devices.

Their tolerance within .0005 of an inch. The average human hair is .003.

The beneficial aspect of production, is you become as efficient as the machine. Timing cycles. Repetitive action and a regimine to the fastest route from breakdown, set up to running parts. You become an internal clock of every job you oversee.

The in stack of metal, proof of work if you are running efficiently, the tray of finished and in process parts does not lie. Everything math.

Perhaps this is why Bitcoin and the decimals and time aspect of it resonated so much with me.

Performing maintenance, fixing operator fuck ups. Finally having minimized most mine after 15 years at trade. One decimal off, and the spindle crashes. An expensive error.

The downside to production manufacturing. Is seemingly no matter how much time you throw at it. It will gladly consume it all. An unending conveyor of orders only separated by the due dates and required table space on in the machines. Break it down. Set it back up.

The other struggle is becoming so proficient at the job. I often find myself overwhelmed by the few hours after work and let myself stagnate more often than I should.

I aim to at least have integrity. And also accept that I don't really like "nice" things. The abstract thinker, occasional art maker in me almost enjoys the moments of chaos. A razors edge.

Perhaps over time I can constitute myself better in all aspects. As I age and grow.
