But how does Bitcoin incentives play out if most users (in the future) are not doing transactions on-chain?

The blocks are small, great. But why even run a node if you are operating on Layer 2,3 ?

And another thing I've been thinking about:

What will happen to the ethos of Bitcoin, the cyber hornets, the keepers of the flame, if Bitcoin continues it's financialization?

Even with hyperbitcoinization, in a 100 years will there be those who run their own node just for the principle of it, or will noderunners increasingly become financial institutions?
