Carbon's ability to form bonds with almost every other element to "create" is the object lesson. The more bonds we form between different people, the more entities can leverage each other's inquisitiveness, passion, and knowledge.
It's not a "hive" mind. It's something different and it is in a constant state of change. It provides a complexity of structure providing spaces to fill with the ideas born of the entire network. One entity is informed by another whose information was permuted through multiple exchanges from multiple denizens of the network outputting multiple creations along the route.
Think humic acid in living soil. What can grow from that if not full forests and all the creatures within?
