Let's encourage more cafés, restaurants and shops in Geneva 🇨🇭 to accept bitcoin. Why don't you suggest to your favourite café to accept bitcoin. Here is a simple solution: https://swiss-bitcoin-pay.ch?refCode=BTCGVA It's good to hodl but invented to use. ⚡ #geneva #genève #français #switzerland #suisse

Club Orange

Bitcoin is about more than just investment. It connects us, empowers us, and enables us to grow as a community.

Don't you sometimes get tired of repeating the same arguments and hitting a brick wall when you try to share your enthusiasm for Bitcoin?

Club Orange is for you!

https://signup.cluborange.org/co/keo

Here you will find fellow bitcoiners .

It's the best place to connect locally, to find events and conferences.

It's also a good place to find merchants who are still around and engage with the community.

If you're worried about being the only one in your area, be brave and purchase a lifetime membership. If you're a true bitcoiner, you'll know that patience is key. In the meantime, connect with others around the world in the group section. I've had many enriching conversations, received help with lightning and found inspiration in books.

The fun thing is the fully integrated lightning wallet that lets you send and receive sats instantly.

⚡⚡⚡

Zap a post or send money to everyone in your city or country. Feeling generous? Zap everyone worldwide!

You can also integrate the wallet with your Nostr. Alternatively, just use it to pay for your coffee or get paid for your goods or services.

Club Orange (previously the Orange Pill App) has huge potential. It's designed for meeting locals. Even when you're travelling. This location-based app (or website) helps you to find Bitcoin users, events and merchants.

Feel free to contact me here on Nostr if you have any questions.

If you're just curious, try it out for a month. As mentioned earlier, it helps to be patient and stay on the app, hodl.

I find this cancel-culture mob behavior pathetic. My phone’s blowing up with accusations from people who have no idea what they’re talking about.

I’m in Costa Rica before an event, so here are a few quick facts straight from the source, for those interested:

Strike performed flawlessly through all of the recent market volatility. Zero downtime, 24/7 support, and the biggest day in our company’s history across all product lines yesterday. Thank you to every Bitcoiner who supports us.

Strike Lending continues to lead the market. We had zero margin calls today, and have never margin-called a customer, ever. Our loans open at 50% LTV, with customers averaging closer to 40%.

We’re building a reliable, trustworthy credit market on Bitcoin. The existence of bad or irresponsible actors doesn’t make the tool itself bad. Does a man using a hammer to harm others disqualify the one who uses it to build a home? Of course not.

Credit is a tool. Used responsibly, it empowers people. Used recklessly, it destroys them. That’s true of any financial system. Credit on Bitcoin can do so much good for the world, and we’re building it the right way: transparent, regulated, and built for Bitcoiners. In fact, we are actually in the middle of building a loan type where you can pay a premium to remove the possibility of ever getting liquidated. We hope to launch it in Q4! Imagine that, from the very people that are being accused of the opposite.

Anyways, do you really want me deciding what’s “good” or “bad” for everyone else? That’s not Bitcoin. Encouraging mob behavior against those actually building tools for financial freedom is backwards.

I’m used to this kind of noise, but our team has the best product velocity in the industry, they deserve none of it. Tag me and come at me if you want to spout nonsense.

If you don’t want to use our tools, don’t. I’ve never forced anyone to do anything. If you do, please use them responsibly, and if you have questions, reach out. We’ll always answer.

Now, I’m off to the event with the Strike team. Stay humble, stack sats, and build the future however you see fit (that's a lot of the point)

You're doing a great job, don't worry about does who are not able to grasp a basic concept.

Loan backed with BTC is a good option. If one wants to be on the safe side, one can increase the amount of BTC.

The problem in today's world is that many are not able to read and comprehend a simple contract. They just follow any movement in the crowd without thinking.

Yeah 😎 BTC has a launched a huge sale

A black Friday moment

A chance to get more for less pieces of paper 💸

I looove it 💕

It helps for visibility but you need to provide a swiss phone number to buy. This not only on the train ticket machine but on all BTC ATMs. There is not much point of paying premium if it's KYC.

I'd love this adoption to happen in Geneva, Switzerland. Here it's very slow.

Some merchants might need the help of a third party to start. It's not easy to install your own node and BtcPayServer.

The swiss solution below might be an option. The merchant can use it as standalone app, all the employees are connected, cashing in to the same wallet. The merchant can choose to keep the BTC (non custodial) or partially/fully receive the amount in fiat.

Not free, but no fees for setup and cheaper than CC.

I really love bitcoin

The love started by reading the white paper .

The relationship grows with every node.

Zap ⚡ this post and you'll make me have a ⚡ of orgasm. A renewal of my intimate bond with Bitcoin.

It's an open relationship, its the flower power of modern times. An organic connection from peer to peer, a constant flow between us, the hodlers, the node runners, the nerd miners, the bitcoiners.

Everytime you invite a friend to join, the love grows. Everytime you convince your coffeeshop to accept BTC, the love becomes stronger.

🌞 Bitcoin is like the light it can disperse darkness but darkness can never disperse it.

Bitcoin lux.

The deeper down 📉

- the stronger your roots

- the amounts of nutrition increases

- the higher you'll grow

- don't cry about your losses

- it's a chance to buy more

- it's black friday in advance

It's sad to see how there is an empty space between the ears of the fomo crowd.

Maybe BTC isn't visible enough in our daily life. In my city there is hardly any merchant accepting bitcoin. So it gets only attention when it hits a new ATH.

To change this I'd like to propose to all readers of @BitcoinMagazine :

1. Spend BTC wherever you can (re-stack the same amount in fiat)

2. Explain to merchants how to accept bitcoin

- A simple hot wallet (easy)

- A full operating BtcPayServer or similar setup (advanced)

- Or use any of the third party solutions that still give you full ownership like: https://swiss-bitcoin-pay.ch?refCode=BTCGVA

(this is my referral code but you can create your own)

There is an additional tax, hidden in plain sight. Inflation.

But there is a solution.

Hint : today since 31. October 2008 the solution proposal has been published.

Sometimes we need darkness to see the light.

The fiat darkness brought us light ⚡

a genius idea has been made public.

"Abstract

A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution. Digital signatures provide part of the solution, but the main benefits are lost if a trusted third party is still required to prevent double-spending. We propose a solution to the double-spending problem using a peer-to-peer network. The network timestamps transactions by hashing them into an ongoing chain of hash-based proof-of-work, forming a record that cannot be changed without redoing the proof-of-work. The longest chain not only serves as proof of the sequence of events witnessed, but proof that it came from the largest pool of CPU power. As long as a majority of CPU power is controlled by nodes that are not cooperating to attack the network, they’ll generate the longest chain and outpace attackers. The network itself requires minimal structure. Messages are broadcast on a best effort basis, and nodes can leave and rejoin the network at will, accepting the longest proof-of-work chain as proof of what happened while they were gone.

. . . "
