Instead of rule OF law we are ruled BY law. These two things are not the same. Rule of law is a set of laws that ALL of society must follow. Ruled by law is an administrative class that imposes the law where they see fit, usually in asymmetric fashion

Public servants are suppose to be transparent in the public eye yet we know nothing about them or what they actually do since so much is “classified”.
Private citizens are suppose to be able to live their lives in private yet the (public) government knows everything about us

The current version of the internet is like a lake, it’s essentially its own ecosystem that has clearly defined borders and is independent from every other lake. Nostr is like the ocean, there are many “different” oceans that have unique characteristics but if you look at a globe it’s just one giant body of water that connects everything together into one giant ecosystem
