One difficult thing to erase is your perception about books, movies, & people you formed in the past, with your mental state & maturity at that point of time.
You have changed, your thought process has changed, but your perceptions remain the same.
A movie you thought was a masterpiece, a person you thought was a genius, a place you called home where honey & milk flowed, all of that is shattered when you revisit it with your updated world view. There should be a word for this disappointment.

Lately, I have been experimenting with myself using self-inquiry. And this is my realisation.
Our thoughts arise momentarily, whether of love, hate, envy, or any other emotion. If left unattended, they pass. However, if we engage with them, they evolve into emotions, shaping our behaviour. Thus, we have the power to choose which thoughts to nurture into emotions, behaviours, and ultimately, actions, influencing our destiny.
To add further, the type of food, content, and clothing you choose influence your thoughts.

Over the past few days, I have been feeling low and have a negative mindset about things. However, I have come to the realization that this is just a cycle. Currently, I am on a downward cycle, but in no time I will move upward and then again downward. This has always been the case, and it will remain like this. The only strategy to use is to make the best out of the upward move and be patient and watchful during a downward move. This is my theory of emotions, and I will stick to it until I have a new one.
