I would buy it to use as the official logo if Blowater doesn’t use the whale. Some clients will definitely want to use it. The gradient is a magic touch.
I wanted to talk with these volunteer students today but didn’t have the courage because I was afraid that we could not communicate in the same language. But I will do it tomorrow. Who knows? Maybe they all speak amazing English. Plus I know some Japanese phrases. This is Nostr. We should feel empowered to communicate not just online, but also in real life.
Maybe it’s because my great hairstyle, people on the street just assume I’m Japanese. I just smiled to them and had no idea what they indented to do LOL
I had so much fun today at NostrAsia and I haven't been this happy for many years.
Here is what I have learned as a developer.
# Nostr Connect & Nsec Bunker
[Nostr Connect](https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/master/46.md) enables many business & organizational use cases. [Blowater](https://blowater.app) will definitely integrate with it. But not an immediate need for me personally yet. So no timeline.
# Unified Public Image Uploader API
[NIP-96](https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/547) HTTP File Storage Integration defines a unified API for public image uploaders.
Not something [Blowater](https://blowater.app) will use immediately because it's not about encrypted binary data handlings, but very useful for kind-1 developers.
# Yondar
[Yondar](https://go.yondar.me/) is an amazing map & location based client. It blew my mind.

It's just beautiful!

Can you imagine it's done by a single developer part-time?

# Questions I got
One lady expressed that many projects here were not anything new from an end user's perspective. It's more like developers are having a good time.
It's a valid comment.
We can answer this question in 2 angles.
1. From a developer perspective, separating backends from clients drastically increased our productivity. Therefore, even if we are not developing anything new from an end users perspective yet, we can build the same thing with much lower cost than the centralized counterpart. Notion might need 1000 people to build it. A Nostr Notion only needs 200 or fewer.
2. Following NO.1, because the cost is so low, the capital utilization of OpenSats is much higher than traditional VC. At least in Silicon Valley, on average a seed round raises 1 million USD. With Jack's 5 million USD, it can only support 5 startups in the VC model. But with OpenSats, we already have 34 projects and it's not fully spent yet. Maybe 1 year later, 90% of these projects will die. But the surviving 10% will be much stronger than an average VC project because we will have survived in much more challenging conditions with 1/10 of the money a VC start-up has.
At this stage, even if some projects choose to go with VC, it will have much better valuation and terms with VCs. It's always better to have a tougher beginning and nicer ending instead of an easy beginning with a difficult ending.
Also, who said nostr projects are nothing new? There is no single software out there that is close to [Yondar](https://go.yondar.me/). It's map + comments + conversations + virtual reality.
Additionally, the to-C market is just one side of the economy. The to-B market is also huge and it's just that most people are not aware of to-B businesses. Most successful Silicon Valley SaaSes are to-B. Nostr just opens a huge possibility for to-B companies. For example, traditionally, SaaS companies such as GitHub use webhooks to communicate with external partners. But building a good webhooks system is very expensive. With nostr relays, companies such as GitHub can publish their data as standard events and their partners can subscribe from GitHub's relays.
The takeaway is, a decentralized technology can be used by centralized operators, but not vice versa.
# What will Blowater do?
I will take a break before having an executable plan for November and December. Let's have fun.
Where is the badge? I should find the artist of this avatar and zap them.
Didn’t get the chance to talk with any Japanese friends. Please come talk to me tomorrow. If you don’t know my face, I have a workshop tomorrow to teach Nostr programming in JavaScript.
A long day of talking, will write a Nostr blog to summarize what I be learned. I have never been this much happy for a long time.
This is my favorite

Hi!
Are you still at the venue?
I want to say hello to you.
I'm wearing black clothes with a Rubik's Cube pattern and orange pants.
Just saw it. Still here. Or we can meet tomorrow
Hey, we should zap all the Japanese volunteer students who are doing a wonderful job for us today and onboard them to Nostr
Done with my first ever public presentation. Kinda nervous but it was fun. I enjoyed it. Want more! Talk to me at the after party. Tech or non tech, whatever.
