Dan Campbell going all out. Not surprised but didn't know he'd do it. If LaPorta out, that hurts, but I don't fault him too much for it.
I took the Pats because I thought they'd be up for BB's last coaching game with the team, but that was wrong. Past-their-prime Legends usually go out with a whimper with few exceptions.
Arthur Smith whining at Dennis Allen for that last TD was embarrassing. It's the pros.
Jaguars had Calvin Ridley on a wide open bomb for the tying TD, Lawrence missed him. Have Ridley on a 31:1 CPOTY ticket. Of course, they wouldn't give it to him. But at least he'd have a case
Happy for based Todd Bowles and Baker Mayfield.
CAR had a TD lost to a fumble into the end zone, missed a FG with the backup K and had another rushing TD called back on an illegal formation, next play sack fumble.
too bad the Jaguars lost -- wanted to see MIA-BUF for all the marbles
The Team I Wish I Had Drafted
Now that my fantasy season is over (except for my Steak League team which looks like an eater or self-buyer at worst), I'd like to focus on what might have been. If I only knew on draft day what I know now, here's the team I would have assembled:
1.1: Nick Chubb
I like his matchup in Week 1, and while I’m worried about his durability, I feel like rolling the dice a bit. Does the Justin Jefferson owner want a sidebet? Name your price.
2.12 Mike Evans
This might be a reach, but give me the guy that gets 1,000 yards every year over scrubs who get injured. Super high floor pick here. You want to double the side? Good with me.
3.12 Amari Cooper
It’s important to advance in the playoffs, and I love his Week 15 and 16 matchups against the Bears and Texans.
4.1 J.K. Dobbins
Love his upside, and you can’t be afraid of injuries, especially when you have the power of perfect foresight. My starting backfield for Week 1 is set!
5.12 Rachaad White
Need to get the giga-Rachaad here — running back depth is always key.
6.1 Alvin Kamara
I bumped him up a couple spots for kicking someone’s ass at a club. Real man.
7.12 James Connor
I know five running backs in the first seven picks is a lot, but I want guys with good playoff matchups.
8.1 Dak Prescott
Why waste an early pick on Patrick Mahomes or Joe Burrow when you can get reach for Prescott with the first pick of Round 8?
9.12: Raheem Mostert
I think this is the year he stays relatively healthy. Love the speed and the scheme. My only concern is can he hold up through the *entire* season.
10.1 David Njoku
I love his playoff matchups and think he could break out were he ever paired with an older, out-of-football type quarterback willing to take shots down the field.
11.12 Matt LaPorta
Rookie tight ends are usually bad picks, but I see LaPorta as an Aaron Hernandez-level talent who can produce right away.
12.1 Jayden Reed
I’m a little thin at receiver and need someone who has good matchups in the playoffs.
13.1 Cowboys Kicker
Maybe Round 13 is early for kicker, but I feel like this rookie is a can’t-miss kicker. Oh, you’re offering me more sides? Bring it, cadelas.
14.12 Ravens Defense
Love to lock up a solid defense and kicker early, let other people chase those important positions late.
15.1 Kyren Williams
I really needed a receiver here, but couldn’t pass up on dog-house prone Cam Akers’ backup.
16.12 Tank Dell
There’s no way he holds up all year at 165 pounds, but he’s fast, and I really think the Texans scored with C.J. Stroud over Bryce Young.
17.1 Puka Nacua
Who? He’s a Rams rookie I could probably get on waivers when Dobbins inevitably is out for the year, but I love his tape and can’t risk it with Cooper Kupp iffy for the start of the year.
18.12 Raiders Defense
I love their Week 15 and 16 matchups in the playoffs. Once they get rid of that NLM Josh McDaniels and install a coach with balls, I have a feeling that unit will take off.
19.1 Saints Kicker
I need someone who will do better than the Cowboys kicker who could slump in Weeks 15 and 17.
20.12 Joe Flacco
I suppose I need a backup QB, and why not take one that’s 38 years old, been terrible for a decade and is out of the league?
. . .
This obviously isn't the best possible team I could have drafted, but I'm positive it would have made the playoffs and crushed in every round. And the side-bet revenue — three rookie receivers, Evans and Cooper! — would probably exceed whatever the league prize is. And I could dominate despite losing my 1.1 pick in Week 2.
mahomes going down the Russell Wilson career path
how do you fumble the snap on 4th and 1? Retarded
made this joke before seeing this news

real man held onto Rashad Penny all year
really would have been much better for me had the Cowboys-Lions gone into OT
Let's do this shit
taking Herculean restraint not to tinker with my lineup. Jeudy, Q Johnston both should get targets. Jeff Wilson now splitting carries, with Kenny Walker questionable in my RB slot.
Jeudy vs Engram or even Godwin is a tough call. Going to do nothing. My call was to use restraint.
Going Evan Engram over Jerry Jeudy in my FLEX. Agonized over it all day. Potentially a big payout on the line.
"I told you Rahaeem Mostert couldn't stay healthy!"
Week 17 ATS Picks
Keep in mind I’m no longer playing for anything — I’m drawing dead even if I go 10-0 over the last two weeks, i.e., I have no skin in the game other than being embarrassed for publishing the picks.
Last week I went 0-5, so I’m plainly out of step with the market. I see handicapping games more like surfing than number crunching. The league is like the water moving underneath you, and you have to find your balance in order to ride it without wiping out. Surfers aren’t doing math — they’re operating on feel, on instinct, based on their observations and experience.
With that in mind, here are my picks (same in all three entries) for Week 17:

The Cowboys are at home where they play much better, and Jared Goff is on the road where he plays much worse. The Cowboys defense is good, so I think we might see bad Goff, and if that happens, the Cowboys should pull away. (I also have Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb going in the Primetime, so I hope Goff plays well enough to keep them producing into the fourth quarter.)
The Dolphins defense has been better of late, but I’m dubious of Miami on the road in cold, outdoor conditions. Warm weather finesse team.
The Giants are bad, but Tyrod Taylor is competent, and this just feels like a sell-high spot for the Rams. I have Saquon Barkley going in that Primetime, and apparently the Rams are No. 1 against running backs for fantasy scoring, so maybe this is wishful thinking.
The Colts got crushed in Atlanta last week, but this feels like a good bounceback spot for them. The Raiders are also a sell-high.
Finally the Texans seem like a bit of a sucker (obvious) play, but CJ Stroud is back, and that’s a huge difference maker.
and that's why the Jaguars shouldn't played their QB while concussed
