when you know more than tech support

it feels like anything i could possibly code would just be reinventing the wheel so why bother, other than for the fun of it

professional software development is pretty ew these days. when i left the business in 2020 i was just having mental issues and a burnout but looking at what the industry has turned into, it's not something i want to participate in. if i could just write nice small programs and sell them, i'd do that, but no one's doing that anymore, and most problems imaginable have already been solved by someone else, so now we're just making up shit no one needs.
