The future is unknowable so let’s read the tea leaves:
The stock market is overheated, the petrodollar system is out of gas, sovereign nations are cashing in treasuries & stockpiling gold, our national debt is closing in on $35T and grocery prices keep going up.
Where to turn? 
I thought it was a Ponzi scheme + it was so volatile. People told me only criminals used it & the government would shut it down. I thought the dollar was ‘real’ money, but it wasn’t. And now the exchange rate with #bitcoin is so high, I can’t afford it. What am I missing here? 
A letter to congress 1960. 
My first day at work I was paid $2.50 an hour for 8 hours (which was pretty low even by 1980s standards.) At the end of the day I was handed this $20 bill which, though poor, I never spent and is now framed on my wall.
Since 1980 its lost 50% of its purchasing power.

2/2 Bitcoin is the alternative financial system. Anyone who has saved in BTC for any 4 year period since 2009 has increased their purchasing power without having to chase yield. Even a 1 - 5% portfolio allocation to BTC makes a significant difference. (Not financial advice.) 
1/2 With fiat currencies you are guaranteed to lose purchasing power at the rate of inflation. This turns everyone into ‘an investor’ constantly seeking yield to keep up with currency debasement.

Dear diary -
Decisions, decisions…should I keep commuting to the office every day for a fiat salary or should I move to a cabin in the forests of N. California and pan for gold? 
“I heard in the city they have this ‘internet of things’ that can turn lights on & off and there’s a little speaker that’ll listen out for you to tell it to play music and there’s cameras everywhere watching for trouble.
I wouldn’t want any of that stuff.”

Just keep to the trail or you could get lost. And carry bear spray. And if you come across a mountain lion make lots of noise. Oh, and carry a cell phone in case you twist an ankle and can’t get out.
Maybe I’ll stay home.
