#Bitcoin is the alternative financial system for local communities at a time of inflation and spiraling national debt. #Mendocino California.

Despite the fact that we’re a community and a society operating with a central bank issued token that is not real money and which is a form of legalized theft - most people will continue ignoring bitcoin until the financial pain is too great.

For most people bitcoin does not compute. For most people money is the dollar and bitcoin is some kind of digital coupon. In their minds It’s still associated with scams and Ponzi schemes. The furthest most people are willing to go is using bitcoin as an investment, a way to make more dollars.

We have one children’s clothing store, Bebe Lapin, that accepts bitcoin. Other than that alas no. But not for lack of trying. I do encourage bitcoiners to always ask businesses ‘do you accept bitcoin?’ It will slowly sink in to business owners that this is a money worth accepting.

The national debt is causing ongoing inflation.

$35+ trillion

$1 trillion added every 100 days

$1 trillion in interest per year

Now BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, reveals it’s preparing for a Federal Reserve dollar crisis with #bitcoin.

Most people glaze over when they hear about the national debt…

$35+ trillion

$1 trillion added every 100 days

$1 trillion in interest per year

But while these stats are beyond our everyday lives the inflation they cause us is very real.

On behalf of many Californians I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize for the current appalling governance of our golden state.

California has been the epicenter of freedom and enterprise since 1850. It’s my hope normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

This whole World Liberty Financial thing makes me nervous. If/when it blows up it may splatter #bitcoin with undeserved slime and people will once again conflate crypto grift with bitcoin.

Today the Fed cut interest rates by 0.5%, marking its first reduction since 2020. The move was largely anticipated by the market, with many analysts predicting a significant cut to address concerns about the labor market and economic growth.

I’m beginning to think that understanding the nature of money and why #bitcoin is as profound an invention as the wheel, the printing press and the internal combustion engine is just too deep for many people to comprehend.

So they don’t.

Things started going off the rails in:

2003-Iraq

2001-9/11

1986-Iran Contra

1963-Dallas

We’re off to the #Mendocino County Fair and Apple Show today.

https://mendocountyfair.com/county-fair/

I signed up for an email with an address that had the word ‘bitcoin’ in it. I was immediately blocked from using the account by the provider.

I’m sure the printing press encountered similar resistance.

If you’re heading g up the coast from San Francisco to #Mendocino this weekend don’t forget to ask at every gas station, bar, restaurant, grocery store etc. if they accept #bitcoin . They’ll all say no but at least it will get them thinking.

I’m off to bed with a glass of single malt and a copy of The Bitcoin Standard. Goodnight.

If you have a bank account and a credit card you might not pay much at to #bitcoin . But if you care about the state of the rest of the world you may want to take another look.

I am endorsing the cat.

Since the gold rush California has been at the epicenter of innovation. Bitcoin is innovation.

Don’t let California fall behind.

Living out here on the frontier you have to go into town at least once a month to trade for the essentials; rice, beans, coffee, whiskey. When you get to town you’d better have something worth trading; skins, moonshine, gold nuggets, bitcoin.
