My thoughts on this:

No delete option means you have to think before you post. It’s a lesson in taking responsibility for your actions. No one is forcing you to press *post*.

This will (I hope) be a deterrent to influencers, scammers, racists, and other bad actors who like to hide behind the *delete* button.

Also, I don’t know how long relays keep old posts. It’s my understanding, and maybe someone will correct me if I’m wrong, that they will purge them over time to save space.

What I expect to see is a preview option where you can check your formatting and spelling. And if you do make a typo, no big deal. We’re all doing that together.

Oh absolutely. Damus is a beautiful application from what I've seen. People generally seem to really enjoy using it too. When it gets approved it will start a massive adoption wave. It will also fuel other clients to catch up. Competition is key for our success as a protocol and as a community.

As a NIP-05 and nostr services provider, I will agree with NVK. It's best to host your own. Though, not everyone can do this. Time and ability are a factor. My goal is to help those in need and to do it in the best and easiest way possible.
