Actually, I remember experiencing this trouble, too. What saved me was NOT searching for some upload thing directly, but to accidentally get a project like this recommended in some way on GitHub & then it would be fairly easy to find alternatives, etc. once you found the right rabbit hole. If you just search for some upload thing it's indeed hard to find something useful.
Btw. it's funny how all this wouldn't work with the new #GitHubFeed.... π

Now, after joining #Nostr, I've heard a lot of people use #SimpleX now & are very satisfied with it.
So, I decided to try it out again, to see what has improved in the meantime.
After a few days of successful usage & okay experience, we hit a HUGE issue disrupting our conversation possibility, completely. We literally cannot communicate until the "faulty" party restarts the phone.

I can't imagine this being the only spam-blocking plugin for #strfry O.o There ought to be more or different ones. Then again, implementing them is easy - just read a line of json and reply. I am going to look into spam-detection mechanisms in text... this is an old, old problem, so I want to prune that first from my DB. o.o

#asknostr I was looking for convenient ways to share files to my friends. FilePizza broke and wormhole is a confusing web UI... so I am looking for something that just, well, works. The flow of things I want is:
1. I open the website, select a file, optionally chose a password for encryption.
2. I get a link I send to my friend, leave my browser open in the back.
3. Friend opens link, download starts.
3.5. I get notified of the download and see the percentage of transfer.
