Some things are just funny. I laugh a lot.
I really tried to go *Bitcoin only* but merchant adoption is a big hindrance. Furthermore, getting some Bitcoin to spend is also an issue.
Bitcoin was mainly created for transactions. *Asset* doesn’t appear in the whitepaper. Narratives, agendas, and ulterior motives are now overshadowing the main purpose of Bitcoin.
But I digress…
I apologize for the typos. I’m literally just posting and not proofreading. I see them all now. Oh well. The professor should do better. 😅
Constantly making connections. Building bridges.
On a final note of today’s fun filled day…
While at this hotel, I bumped into someone I met in another country. Small world!! 🌍 🌎
She’s the one who really encouraged me to come to Cape Town. She sold me on it. I can’t believe it. I didn’t even tell her I was here. I gotta be at 2 degrees of separation by now!! 💃🥳
Of course they’ll claim they’re protecting me. More like restricting me.
For the sake of being able to communicate in other parts of the world, get an email address other than Gmail. They are NOTORIOUS for blocking my access. I always perform a test when I get to a new country. I tested it yesterday. The following image happens often. Proton Mail has never given me any problems. But Gmail will lock you out. Imagine being locked out of banking, communication, and other things simply because you decided to leave the plantation. And don’t forget you have to let your bank know you’re traveling so you are basically given permission to use your money in another country. Whew honey! But I thought we were free though….

Oh, and all of them had WhatsApp numbers. If someone could successfully break into the WhatsApp market, my goodness you’ll be set.
WeChat has a market on lock too and it has WeChatPay.
Three people taught me at least three new things days. (Buhle taught me even more.) I love being in student mode. I’m super inquisitive! The more you know! ✨
inDrive allows for payment in cash or PayShap. I’ve never heard of PayShap before. So, I asked the taxi driver about PayShap. I tells me about it. You can learn more here.
Now that I’ve paid with cash, my *Bitcoin only* life is over. That was quick. 😂
It lasted less than 3 days.
I asked Buhle about Bitcoin usage and he shared some insights. I’ll explore some things in the upcoming future.
Buhle also told me about the inDrive app because I was experiencing issues with Uber again.
inDrive is a ride sharing app. He said it’s better than Uber and you can negotiate the price.
Me: What!!?? Let me try!
I download the app. The set up was super easy. Better than Uber UX. No credit card needed. You can pay with cash or PayShap. I select cash. The app provides a suggested price for the ride. It suggested 63 Rand. I can type in another offer and wait to see if any driver accepts. I type in 50. A driver accepts! Woot woot! He picks me up in about 10 minutes. You can see the driver on the way like you can with Uber. The driver takes me to my destination and I paid 50 Rand. It was quick and easy. A much better experience than Uber. And cheaper! Uber’s lowest price was 80 Rand.
Thanks Buhle!
I also met a young man today and we talked for hours. He’s an angel. His name is Buhle and displayed an act of kindness more than once. He’s such a sweetheart. I told him I would talk about him on my TV show. He asked if it was going to be a YouTube channel.
Me: No but it’ll be online somewhere.
Him: You should pitch it and try to get it on a major network.
Me: 🙃
More information about Rype…
As I progressed about my day, I met a young lady. While we were talking, I learned that she taught French using Rype. I briefly looked into it.
If there are any educators out here, you might want to apply.
Furthermore, if there are any business minded people out there, consider creating a website like this but people are paid in Bitcoin *and* other cryptocurrencies. Yes, embrace other cryptocurrencies.
Started the day with a prayer and reading the Bible. 🙌
Today has been a good day thus far. Thank you God. 🙌
God is real.
God is real. I don’t care if anyone says otherwise. I’m unshakable in my belief. God has never forsaken me. God has always been there for me. Always.
