Life is never dull living among urban wildlife. #BeKind ๐Ÿฆซ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ•Š ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ› โ“ฅ #plantBased #humaneGarden #wholesome #fedi22 โ€จโ€จThe header photo is 3 of our #CompanionRats, Sammi & Ziggy, and Lil Marty eating snacks together in the pet carrier. โ€จโ€จAvi is an otter with a squirrel and a rabbit, in chartreuse background color.

nostr:npub1ccmqf9y3u9t3nal97g87eagck0g52dhv4xd3m884hfpuuparzzxsx4w7n0 Youโ€™re welcome. I had the same thought as you when I first saw one! Now I notice them everywhere. Iโ€™ve even seen them digging a nest to deposit the egg. Interesting bug!! ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ

nostr:npub1ccmqf9y3u9t3nal97g87eagck0g52dhv4xd3m884hfpuuparzzxsx4w7n0 oh yes, please! But pls be careful!!

I think I know which ones youโ€™re talking about. Theyโ€™re probably great golden digger wasps (they have crazy name, too!). Theyโ€™re pollinators. And despite of the crazy scary looks, theyโ€™re not aggressive, I believe.

Do they look like this one?

nostr:npub1wjertnc0ekmuuvfgpw6zyx68e5lxryvglj5v02pxljwfw4jfvrmq7ekd27 Thank you. The orange trumpet vines are just getting started blooming so hopefully many more #hummingbirds visit this summer. They seem to like them but so do the wasps! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿคฃ

nostr:npub1ccmqf9y3u9t3nal97g87eagck0g52dhv4xd3m884hfpuuparzzxsx4w7n0 I hope they do! Oh, and I do like some wasps, too! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚โฃ๏ธ

(I rescued house rabbits for many years, I painfully understand! ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜˜)

nostr:npub1927pf57ryk293ysy76pdge9kxwxj7m9arg6cjlws9rc5kahk6avsqekwdq Thatโ€™s great! Smart pup!! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ‘

Btw, hereโ€™s Joey who used to trim his own nails. ๐Ÿ˜†โฃ๏ธ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜‚

I donโ€™t know where I caught it, but Iโ€™ve had a very mild case of throat cold. No sinus congestion, just sore throat. I seem to have zapped it in a few days, taking zinc and oil of oregano, as well as gargling with a little baking soda and a drop of tea tree oil in a glass of water.

Negative result on Covid test.

Anyway, time to order more masks.

One more.

For unknown reason, all the transplanted cucumber and summer squash seedlings died this summer. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

And what I thought to be some volunteer summer squash turned out to be imposters that didnโ€™t get any flowers. So, I got rid of them.

Underneath the tangled vine mess, the turnips were doing ok! (right pic)

Then I squeeโ€™d to find a summer squash seedling emerging in the other bed, which I literally emptied the entire seed packet into the soil last week. *grateful*๐ŸŒฑ

#CommunityGarden

Arghhh! the construction noises coming from both across the street and the condo yard (a neighbor is installing hardwood floors) are driving me nuts!

(sorry for the #rant - but I tend to only post positive stuff and which gives the illusion that my life is too good, and I think I used to be misunderstood on twttr.)

nostr:npub1gdurjln36a2xwkvs2rdrslm7ctnte80jrxp9jvngppz8l7zrhvaqndv6hq I imagine a pastel Chinese dragon is about to bust out of these pretty ripples?! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿ‰

nostr:npub1927pf57ryk293ysy76pdge9kxwxj7m9arg6cjlws9rc5kahk6avsqekwdq oh I hope it went smoothly for everyone.

I had a boy bunny who couldnโ€™t stand it. After I cut his nails once, he trimmed them by himself thereafter. ๐Ÿฐโฃ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘

There are many cottontails, voles, and mice live in the community garden. And we can only tend to the plot once or twice a week. So we grow whatever does well.

I put a high security fence around some okras yesterday. Who knew bunnies love okra leaves?!๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜ weโ€™ll seeโ€ฆ

After the first jalapeรฑo was bit into by some unfortunate critter who likely regretted it, no one disturbs them now. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ’š

Took home two turnips, and here are the rest of yesterdayโ€™s haul. Iโ€™m very thankful. ๐ŸŽƒ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿซ›

AI RoboPets has some bright side: it would relieve the already overworked veterinary. Also would potentially reduce the factory farms, as 20% of fac-far meat is accounted for pet food. Less surrendered animals, too.

But their appearance has to be sufficiently fluffy and cuddly, and not to mention โ€œcute.โ€ lol Iโ€™ll stick with #AdoptDontShop ๐Ÿน๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿจ

I can imagine the future Osamu Tezuka has depicted in his animรฉ and manga, where realistic, robotic humans and animals seamlessly exist among people.

AI RoboPets are just the beginning maybeโ€ฆ ๐Ÿค–
