My grandma was a midwife 65 years ago.

Back then, the doctors word was basically law, or at least a super high authority, and not to be questioned, at least not by the nurses/midwives.

My grandma thought she might be expecting twins, but the doctor told her there was only one, so she believed him.

Cut to when she was in labor, and had just birthed her first daughter, someone in the room who was assisting her went, "Okay, we're gonna take the other one out now," and then my mom showed up.

My grandpa had to leave the hospital and scramble to go get another set of baby items to care for their unexpected 2nd daughter.

I'm glad things have progressed since then, and it's a lot easier to tell how many babies are actually hiding in there now, but unfortunately, we also know that the doctors words can't always be trusted, which is sad.

Sure, they clearly weren't right back then either, but the veil has now come down, so the false sense of security when going to a doctor has been shattered and now we kinda need to be our own advocates to make sure that what they say is actually reality.

I'm so glad I know the Great Physician, Jesus. I know he knows everything and only wants food for me, so I can actually fully trust Him!

Pregnancy is not a disease, yet some people think it requires a doctor to treat the mom.

Sure, if something is wrong, by all means, go see a doctor.

However, to have someone who's experienced assist with the birthing part is very different than having a doctor throughout pregnancy.

Ever since I heard about midwives, I've been way more interested in using one of those during pregnancy, because they're not incentivized to get stuff done, but rather, to assist the natural journey of a baby from until the birth.

It's interesting that they don't seem to be allowed to assist with twins or multiples, though maybe that's because those babies usually come early and need some at least oxygen assistance from the very beginning. But if possible, wouldn't it still be better if she could do the delivering, even if it's at a hospital because the babies need some care after?

Proverbs 18:22 reads, “He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.”

It is quite sobering to think of this verse as a wife. I am the fulfillment of this scripture for my husband 🤯😯😊

Comedians usually joke about how they had some fight with their spouse but it's rarely very healthy.

Sure, a fight can get heated and boundaries are crossed, but if the purpose is to get to the bottom of the issue, if humility is added, and self reflection, even in the midst of arguing, it will help end it much faster and healthier than if two people are set on "winning", refusing to consider the other persons side.

Then, once it's concluded, apologizing for any boundaries you crossed, and things you said that hurt, or even to hurt, the other person, and asking for their forgiveness. Now this is how to build a strong and healthy and long lasting relationship!

Instead of focusing on winning the argument, the focus is on loving the other person and reconciling with them, and maybe even to learn something new about how they work.

If they mean stacking sats for someone else, I guess... but they're not actually stacking them for themselves that way!

Ever noticed how when someone has an issue with something, an expert in that field walks into the room, and the issue resolves itself?

I have seen this with computers, when my expert dad has appeared, I've heard of how an electrician walked in and a wall plug issue got resolved without him needing to actually do anything but enter the building, and I've often heard of it when it comes to cars and mechanics, although these issues might come back after the mechanic leaves 😅🤣
