It's not a very auspicious date historically, but the end of this week is even worse with the anniversaries of Columbine, the Oklahoma City bombing. Hitler's birthday and the final day of the FBI siege at Waco. 
This was inevitable and predictable. Being at war sucks for those forced to prosecute it, especially when they are used, as they so often are, to prop up unpopular governments using the blood to wave the flag.
