Today was Anarcoooooooooon!

We usually camp the full Friday through Sunday event, but this year, because of the rescheduling, nostr:npub1jrx2fk666k5nt8vgak9xwyxlgcwh8fl9rvpwvvcpdthuqkcnptrqdfhtaq and I were only able to come down for one day. We brought my pottery and I actually sold some despite the lower than usual turnout.

Each year, they’ve held a Toxic Masculinity competition with spear- and axe-throwing (that USED to be coed…!)

This year, for the first time, they also held a Tradwife competition πŸ‘€

I was invited to participate and repeatedly declined, but my husband pointed out it would be pretty funny if I won, which is true…

…it is indeed extremely funny to both of us that I won 🀣

We were scored on speed and skill in several challenges: folding a fitted sheet, diapering a baby, throwing grenades (water balloons) to protect the homestead, and separating egg yolk from white using only the eggshell.

One older woman seemed to have it in the bag with her perfect sheet folding and accurate aim, but I must have beaten her on time and egg separating.

Good thing it was a contest of skills, not strength of belief in the importance of gender roles, or I would not have won:

- a snazzy sash

- in-jokes with my husband I will never live down

- a cast iron skillet

- a silk flower bouquet

- the β€œbaby” we diapered which was a cloth doll handmade by one of the judges, which makes Sophia extremely giggly and happy

It was fun! The energy of the spectators was intense, especially for fitted sheet folding. The organizers picked good challenges and good prizes.

As a bonus, it was a minor point of humor for me to see the menfolk holding the babies during the tradwife competition 😁

This sounds like fun. Should add a fastest crochet/knitting competition πŸ˜‚.

In need of an #getalby invite code please.

Nothing as satisfying as seeing the end result of working with your hands 😍. Finished these tracksuits for a client's twin granddaughters yesterday.

So funny! 🀣

Breastfeeding is the most humble experience a mother can bestow onto her child. The mother puts aside all her wants and needs to offer her time, body and eventually herself for her baby.

Psalm 39:6

Twenty-Four Seven Teddy Bear

I hope I can be your Teddy bear.

Giving you a warm hug when you feel unloved.

Carrying you an umbrella when you feel sad.

Picking up my sword when you are scared.

Accompanying you when you are lonely.

I would never ask more than your love.

All I want is to stand by you forever.

I love you whereas I have never thought of owning you.

Although you do not love me, you possess me forever.

My duty is protecting my little girl, You.

Until one day, my little girl becomes a gorgeous princess.

That day, you do not need a Teddy bear anymore.

That day, you find your prince and begin your story.

I will whisper to you, I love you, Dearest.

Feeling grateful.

2016 was the first time I heard about Bitcoin. Even though it was exciting and thrilling, I never imagined it would be life changing. It fit into our way of thinking and living like a lost puzzle piece, it made our family whole. I am forever grateful for what Bitcoin brought into our lives.
