Thoughts on immigration:
It’s a wonderful aspect of Americanism that we can accept people from all over the world, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion and we can absorb them while allowing their unique cultures to survive and thrive
But part of Americanism is to not let those cultures overtake the values of America. We can debate endlessly about what exactly those values are but generally they’re classical liberal ideas about governance, freedom, individualism, the scientific method, and open-mindedness
Many people will laugh as they think of a hillbilly or a liberal elitist as being open-minded but on the grand scheme of history we are a wildly open-minded and accepting nation
Those two archetypes have far more in common for the fact that they can peacefully coexist with mutually exclusive ideologies
The rest of world can have 99% in common and get stuck on one minor detail that causes them to fight and kill each other
It is a small segment of the population who commits these violent acts, but enough to reverberate for hundreds and even thousands of years
Those are the segments of the world population we must limit from taking over because they’re close-minded anti-American values and their violence will destroy us
There is also the issue of how many immigrants America can financially and geographically support to maintain not only American values but also to maintain a flourishing society that can take on more immigrants down the ground
It’s not anti-American to want to maintain American values and prevent an invasion of your nation. If the nation falls, the ability to take on future generations of immigrants will cease, and immigrants would likely not want to come to what the nation turns into
If you want to help immigrants, then do so thoughtfully and responsibly, so that future generations may enjoy the same benefits
Progressivism is mental colonization
Thesis:
A global societal push towards traditional values, layered with western liberal values, is the response to 100 years of progressive values and their outcomes that have characterized this last saeculum
The question is, is this the end of a saeculum, the Crisis period or Fourth Turning
Or are we in a protracted Crisis period lasting longer than the standard 20-25 years predicted in Strauss-Howe’s Generational Theory?
If the former, then the “good times” of the First Turning or The High should be right around the corner
But it certainly doesn’t feel like the good times are around the corner. It feels like we haven’t hit the truly hard times. Those hard times have been kicked down the road and the culprits are likely endless fiat money printing and the digital revolution.
Personal honor will again become a scarce but highly sought after trait in people, but not until after a collapse of biblical proportions

Great book, but each “rule” needs to be taken or applied separately. Some rules contradict other rules, but isn’t that how social structures work?
Social “rules” are scenario and individual personality based. Some rules you would have to be a psychopath to consciously think about applying. But it’s a good dive into social order and psychopathy.
