Played hooky from work today to play farmer and work on getting the irrigation ready.

We went 2 for 24 our first try. By the end we were hatching hundreds of quail and chickens a month and about 80-90% hatch rate. It gets better. Learn something every time.

Our first attempt at hatching chicks from our own eggs was a dismal 6/48.

The 6 that hatched are going strong though!

Wildfires? Had the smoke make the sun hazy like that last week here in East Canada/USA because of the wildfires out west in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

No worries, I’m not sure that freshwater clams are ok to eat. Something feels ‘off’ to even try.
