Misskey did it first. Then Fedibird, then Soapbox, then Akkoma, then… still not Mastodon.
Ohh, please quote one of my posts so I can test that my bridge works correctly
how do you quote post in Damus…
Deno is superior. It implements web standard APIs like SubtleCrypto and Fetch, making your code compatible with web browsers. It's also significantly faster than Node.js. It's a rewrite in Rust created by the author of Node.js to fix all the problems he sees with Node. Oh also, you can import stuff by URL. It's decentralized coding! The only reason to use Node.js is if you're relying on legacy code.
For anyone running Node.js who wants to use the strfry-policies code directly (as a library), I'm also transpiling it to a npm package with polyfills: https://www.npmjs.com/package/strfry-policies

ALEX JONES JUST GOT ON THE STAGE AAAHHHHHH

And that’s why you keep coming back every day. Right? Instead of doing anything else healthy or productive. Do not reply to this post. Log off.
Bluesky is an attempt to organize the chaos. Nostr, like the Fediverse, is the chaos. I love the chaos, and I thrive in it. All the best ideas come from chaos, and anyone at any level can play their cards right to make it big.
Mostr has no instance restrictions, but it also doesn’t store data, it simply passes off messages in realtime to the configured write relays.
I just think it’s interesting Republicans and Democrats agree on something and change still hasn’t happened. In Texas.
Anyone who has gone deep enough into ActivityPub understands how schizophrenic JSON-LD is. It is an incredibly unnecessary way of making sure JSON keys never conflict with other implementations, which they NEVER DO anyway. They made it so hard by solving a bunch of problems that don’t exist upfront; a great way to kill community involvement with your protocol.
There are users on different servers already
💯 Artificial scarcity is powerful, and it can be extremely effective at generating hype during launch.
If Gargron really did lean into it and bridge it, and adopt it into Mastodon etc I think it would be a serious threat. At the moment it’s more of a research project and proof of concept. If that changes I’ll reprioritize, but atm my time is better spent on Fedi and Nostr-related things.
You need an invite to bsky.social. You can self-host but I don’t know how.
Thinking about a 3-way bridge on Mostr. I think building out Nostr stuff is a bigger priority rn but it’s in the back of my mind.
0 invite codes available, will let you know if that changes!
Made my debut on Bluesky.
