i dont have access to IP past an hour ago but the one I do is 65.109.84.183, this matches the A record for fediverse.smat-app.com. there is no AAAA record. it's a hetzner machine

your posts will still appear federated to them. im working on a way to block them for btrfly users if they would prefer that

false alarm friend, they were fetching media through poastcdn so 109.205.211.46 and 104.244.73.183 are us, sorry i only got 2 hours of sleep last night!

i assessed the damage on this and it looks like the extent of federation this instance did with us was:

Aug 20 19:31 UTC: poast becomes aware of this instance, some old media federates (like early 2021 files)

nothing between Aug 21 - Aug 24

Aug 24 00:45 UTC: some more really old media

then nothing until

Aug 26 00:34 UTC: more old and some new media

this is where it gets interesting, they are federating from several IPs:

so you will want to block all 3 of these IPs via iptables or whatever you preferred method is
