I see no jets currently visible in the sky. There is no wind on the ground.

Also, if the wife had him put in a home, she likely had the ability to make medical decisions for him, as he was unable to make them himself.
So, while I don't doubt the hypothetical likelihood of this, I am skeptical that this actually happened to a real 80 year old couple.
