In the 1970s, #America’s elite vastly overestimated the strength of the #SovietUnion. Now the smart elites are vastly overestimating #China’s strength and belittling our ability to defend our society.
#China is vulnerable because of its steadily eroding economy, and #XiJinping refuses to adopt commonsense solutions. Now is not the time to underestimate our leverage.
#China’s weak #yuan is aiding the country’s exports, and the weak currency is a reflection of a steadily deteriorating domestic economy. #XiJinping is betting on exports because he won’t stimulate domestic demand. He is, therefore, betting on continued access to foreign markets.
