I fut like a caveman, don't bother. #bitcoin legend, #nostr chulo.

No country for old men

No country for old meni is a film that tries, but does not succeed.

The general idea, written on paper, the two sentence producers' intro, maybe even the five hundred word outline work splendidly. "What if", the story goes, "a very stubborn, salt of the Earth blue collar type interracted with an eschatological event, and a tendril of Cthulhu emanating from it dances with him and eventually kills him, on the backdrop of the same Midwest from Fargo ? He has a girl, and things, you realise."

Splendid! Let's make it! And yes, put those bizarre faggots on it, definitely.

However, don't cast Javier "Segunda Ensenanza" Bardem as the tendril of Cthulhu. It's okay to call it "Anton Chigurh", it's even a good idea to pretend it's like, bipedal and everything. Do not put it in the hands of the cognitively limited, it's a difficult role and "he's just retarded enough he might appear otherworldy" works (when it does work) for Kevin Spacey, not for Noname Spic-ey.

Also, the script needs some serious dialogue work, "ecclectic mundane" is not a proper style for The Harbinger. By the time some random hick seems cogent and together in the face of random "what's the most you lost on a coin toss" onslaught, and so on... Sure, the "I promised your husband" thing works, but it's a dollar short and a very long hour late.

Woody Harrelson is okay as the mook, there to convince us that the bad guy is bad, first by telling, then by retelling, then by getting killed, a sort of perpetual Lt. Cmdr Worf. The only problem is that he looks exactly like a used car salesman with a fetlife account, which... His timely demise convinces a weary audience that this Chingles fellow is about as tough as a really angry UPS guy. Which...

The chick's okay, in the sense that she's a dizzy goat, so consequently passes with ease for a dizzy goat. The part where her character's traitorous nature (woman, amirite) impels it to cut deals with the pigs is maybe a little bit thick, but then misogyny is the necessary table stakes for hiring the fag team to do the directin', what can you do.

I still can't fathom why the dood that rents multiple motel rooms didn't have the mental acuity to remove the prize from its original wrapping ; and this is only one example of fridge logic selected rather randomly from amongst an oversufficient supply.

This thing should really be re-shot, with an entirely different cast.

443798

Meaning that 68`629 lines up to the 512`427 total were actually status traffic etcetera and not actual chatter by a nick. I hold almost one third of that total. How many words is that ?

grep " <mircea_popescu>" | wc -w

2356983

Ie, about a third, but even slightlier even less so than in the case lines!i But what about the distribution by days ?

Cute huh ? But wait! 1263 lines means about four years! And indeed, the first reference in the file is

$ sed -n '1,2 p' trilema.txt

**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Wed Apr 25 10:55:57 2012

Apparently #trilema has existed for a long, long time!

But what about words, you ask ? Why, I'm glad you mentioned that! Check out this bash gnarl :

$ cat trilema.txt | awk '$3="";{print $0}' |grep " <mircea_popescu>" | sed 's/|//g' | sed 's/ <mircea_popescu>/|/g' | awk -F "|" '{print $1,$2}' | awk '{print $1, $2, NF-2}' | awk 'NR==1{last=$1 $2; sum=0;}{if (last != $1 $2) {print last "," sum; last=$1 $2; sum=0;} sum+=$3;} END {print last "," sum;}'

Isn't it fucking lovely ? Especially in the way it leverages unstated assumptions making even vaguely understanding what the fuck is going on a three weeks' vacation ? Anyways, the result :

The fabulous day of many firsts »

Category: Zsilnic

Wednesday, 09 May, Year 10 d.Tr.

Must suck to be one of you "average guy with a great sense of humor" losers, seriously now.

First off, remember that schmuck ? The 24 yo "Male" "Dominant" from Hendersonville, North Carolina ? (US). No ?! Really ?

Yeah, that's right, with the cut up picture, the glasses, the faggot beard, the works.

He's you, you know that, right ? "Intellectual" and all ? Who are you kidding, forget about it. He's exactly you, the average guy with a great sense of humor. Like this other schmuck, remember him ?

What, seriously ? Not this one either ?! Here!

The other person asked me a question, which I answered, and apparently she did not approve of the answer. Her reply was a lengthy diatribe consisting entirely of insults and some very specific threats. Naturally, I reported that conversation for abusive behaviour and I took a break from the site for a few days because frankly I was not expecting that and was a bit shaken from the experience.

No ? Still nothing ? And to think justusranvier thinks himself an expert of some fame and etcetera.

But anyway -- this saga is not at all ended, dear average guy with a great sense of humor. It continues, today and likely forever.

For instance, today : you certainly remember how I said

mircea_popescu: in other lulz of the ongoing fetlife saga, they've MASSIVELY rate limited profile views. check out ~100 people in an hour or so, get timed out. so big deal, right, i have more c blocks than baku had girlfriends. except, wait for it... new accounts require SMS verification! everything must be facebook! sooo... big deal, 1 sent girl to buy a bagful of phone numbers. they cost, no joke, $2.5 here. EXCEPT, of course, they want your "cedula", you know, "por activacion". which is not a big deal at all, considering most any shop will sell you preactivated ones nqa anyway. this entire exercise in idiocy has, practically speaking, resulted in me paying various hard working ticos a grand or so, to the people fucking in the ass the "security" paradigm of pantsuit.fetlife. IN LIEU of having paid that much, and rather more, to the fetlife itself. but this paradigm where "we will cater to the peniless but opinionated female herd, instead of the rich and actually powerful white male" fucked them over.

Well... today I finally got around to pouring all that data into bash -- team girlies with boxen finished account creation days ago, which is to say the day after team girlies with cars completed the "buy a pile of SIMMs" task. But there's only one of me for so very many of them, and in Stefa's own words... perdo colpi. Or whatever, it wasn't much of a priority anyway, more of a lulz item.

But in either case, the process involves a login so as to steal cookies for later reusage. And that login yields... well... it yields the average guy with a great sense of humor. But in spades! Have you ever wondered what average guys with a great sense of humor say to chicks they imagine exist ? You're in luck, check this out :

Yeah, that's right. Random dork from Costa Ricai is going to help my AI girl navigate the perhaps confusing, at times overwhelming world of the web. Isn't he fucking endearing ?

But the prize for low effort nonsense probably goes to

He's managed to spam that crap to every.single.fucking.account, as fucking if.

Oh, and least you completely forget about them, Argentina also represent! (Though very sporadically, about 8% or so hit rate.)

Another insistently "helpful" moron, he's got about 90% of the gals. Well... "got". You know, like the average guy with a great sense of humour gets things and items. He'd better have a fucking great sense of humour about it.

Oh, and speaking of voluntary castration :

that Jimenaii dood hit about half the girls, to let them know he's a MtF tranny and ...

Then there's the "follow" dance, and oh yeah, and that dood that asked to be friends. With just about 80% of them. I had no fucking idea teh friendzone was quite that popular with the swimtrunk crowd!

But just in case you were wondering, they're not all Latam/Centroamerica. Europe figures in the dragnet as well!

Not to mention Israel. Living up to their reputation, the jews have an urgent business proposal for my script!

As you perhaps intuit I've abridged this sad porridge drastically. The only thought that comes to my overwhelmed mind -- naturally overwhelmed, mind you, by the pressure of the byproducts of vaginal fermentation (and muchly in spite of the structured, efficient and far reaching efforts of artificial intelligence working hard to protect me from the tiresome) -- is that... holy shit it sucks to be you. Seriously now.

Why do you keep on, anyway ? It's not worth it, literally, absolutely, Elliot was a smarter businessman than the whole lot of ye average guys, with or without your stolid senses of humour. His choice was the right choice, what the everloving are you waiting around here for ? What, you'll meet a girl that'll like you ? Forget about it, they like me specifically because I'm nothing like you. Go, your father in heaven has a whole world of riches awaiting and there's literally nothing for you down here.

In closing, I leave you with Arno, the world traveler.

———Wikipedia pompously lists "Grupo de Usuarios de Linux de Costa Rica", an entity very much in the vein of Bitpay and other ploughing flies. On the oh-so-relevant page we are maternally warned that, NOTE : Naturally, the language used is Spanish as in their mailing lists.

Meanwhile I ran a (complete) survey of all irc networks earlier this month (in continuation of), and guess what ? #guclr consisted of me and chanserv. Yep, right, that's it. What nao, words ? [↩]Isn't that a great name for the voluntarily castrated beta bois ? Seriously now, think about it, to miss not only the girly parts actual girls still have, but also the girly parts actual girls already shed! What fucking hymen, lawds mewcy!

Seriously, I'ma start calling trannies Jimena. It's... apt. [↩]

Muma lui Stefan cel Mare

Since this is a major point of learned reference in colloquial Romanian not to mention a pretty decent poetic attempt, let's regale the esteemed leadership with something that to date doesn't exist : a bilingual version.

1.

Pe o stinca neagra, intr-un vechi castel, unde cura-n vale un riu mititel

On an ancient rampart upon darken rocks cast above a river as deep as deer's hocks

2.

Plinge si suspina tinara domnita, dulce si suava ca o garofita

Cries and sighs a beauty, sweet and elegant, temptress to behaviours most extravagant

3.

Caci in batalie sotul ei dorit a plecat cu oastea, si n-a mai venit

Cries she for her Master, her desired one, sallied to do battle and is not yet done.

4.

Ochii sai albastrii ard in lacrimele cum lucesc in roua doua viorele

Iridiscent glimmers seared in teardrops, drying out the river every time she stops.

5.

Buclele-i de aur cad pe albui-i sin, rozele si crinii pe fata-i se-ngin

Golden curlicues framing milky breast, rose and white lily cheek and forehead wrest.

6.

Insa doamna soacra linga ea vegheaza, si cu dulci cuvinte o imbarbateaza.

Yet a gaunt expression of her own old age sprinkles on her sadness rosemary and sage

7.

Un orologiu suna noaptea jumatate ; la castel in poarta oare cine bate ?

Brazen bell announces the night is half gone ; iron gates arattle. Who is knocking on ?!

8.

Eu sunt, bun a maica, fatul tau dorit, eu, si de la oaste ma intorc ranit

It is I, good mother, your beloved son. I, that from the battle now returns undone

9.

Soarta noastra fuse cruda de-asta data ; mica mea ostire fuge sfarimata.

Fate's cruel shadow broke our joyous band ; the fiend's charge and arrow no one could withstand.

10.

Dar deschideti poarta, turcii ma-ncongior, vintul sufla rece, ranile ma dor...

But open this gate, the Turks are about, and the winds blow coldly, and my wounds bleed out...

11.

Tinara domnita la fereastra sare. "Ce faci tu copila ?!" zice doamna mare

The young lady darts towards the door, but can't make it past the towering old bore

12.

Apoi ea la poarta atunci a iesit si-n tacerea noptii astfel i-a vorbit

That instead came out and in silence spoke, creaking, terminally, words cut out of oak.

13.

Ce spui tu, straine ? Stefan e departe ; bratul sau prin taberi mii de morti imparte.

What say you, nobody ? Stephen is afar, his right arm enacting a free death bazaar.

14.

Eu sunt a sa muma, el e fiul meu ; de esti tu acela, nu-ti sunt muma eu.

I am that one's mother, and that is my son ; if you seek a mother I am not the one.

15.

Wednesday, 30 May, Year 10 d.Tr.

Mr. Dilworthy falls in some bad company.

Mr. and Mrs. Dilworthy had signed up about six weeks prior to a novelty mail-order course, "How To Gangbang Your Wife". It seeemed to them an innocent caper, one of those futile moves worn-together couples may engage in safely and from a distance ; but then one thing led to another and here they found themselves today, in their everyday livingroom, but in the company of two young gentlemen : Shaun (not Shawn!) and George. They did not really know whether the names were genuine or invented for the occasion, nor did it really make so much practical difference. As Mr. Dilworthy reclined on their sofa, the Mrs straddled him, at their visitors' instructions, on her knees. They had enjoyed but a few strokes of this common domestic congress when Shaun presented his respectable endowment quite in Mrs. Dilworthy's face (and, in fairness, mere inches from the Mr's). To the latter's genuine surprise, she swallowed it up ravenously, with an unartful eagerness quite contrastant with the lukewarm disinterest she had previously professed over the intervening weeks ; mere moments later he felt her wince over what was directly confirmed to him a violation of her innards that he himself had never yet partook in. Her rectum evidently swelled to accomodate George, whom he could rather immediately if somewhat innervingly feel rubbing against his very own presence inside his very own wife.

She was limp and relaxed in his arms, swaying gently with the motion of the two men ; but presently George leaned and whispered in her ear, and she, looking down into her husband's face with infinite, tender loveliness, soon raised his head slowly and with the softest of gestures until the point of his nose was firmly anchored in Shaun's own anus. Mr. Dilworthy kissed that taint, and then, under his wife's insistent grip licked the ballsack that was connected by a thick, long shaft to the head she herself suckled on, and licked and kissed like a long lost, perfect lolipop of youth. The feeling of being thus connected to his wife was quite elating, in a very pure, spiritual way ; so pure and spiritual in fact that Mr. Dilworthy felt his own erection subside, and eventually fall out of his wife's dripping slit, slowly pushed out by George's steady piston just as Mrs. Dilworthy herself was being raised from atop the couch to a standing position.

She briefly rooted around behind the couch, out of his view, inside a large gym bag Shaun had carried in, and presently Mr. Dilworthy felt the volcanic burn upon his own crotch. In his own wife's loving, tender grip his balls and shaft caught the cold fire of vaporub, evaporating his manhood to a most boyish proportion. After working the needling agent thoroughly into every pore and crease, her fingers found the space between his skin and that most delicate tip of any man's organ, and after a short break (no doubt needed to reload her fiery cargo) slathered that secret crease in such generous globs as they could at the outmost carry.

Mr. Dilworthy gave out a yelp and looked up at the Heavens in expiation, only to see Shaun above him, holding a leathery contraption. The device turned out to be a mask, one that completely covered the scalp, the eyes and ears, the nose and cheek, leaving only one round opening around the mouth. It was of quite solid construction, Mr. Dilworthy soon found out, and it closed tightly around the neck with the click of a lock. Simultaneously with that click, a different lock closed on his body, ensconcing his chemically reduced penis into a metal cage that promised to keep it into that cute if diminutive shape forever. Just as Mr. Dilworthy opened his mouth to cry, or protest, or perhaps whisper some sweet nothing or another, his wife's end of the great thick shaft propped itself inside his mouth, while his wife's dextrous finger found his asshole, and blessed it with the same unction as had prior graced his frontal organ.

Mr. Dilworthy buckled, which was all the better, as it allowed him to be turned about and set face down on the couch. A good solid leather brace bound his arms tightly together behind his back momentarily, from elbow to wrist. Evidently it had a good solid handle on it, that George grabbed good hold on, and in short order Mr. Dilworthy was swaying gently to the rythms of the two young men, just as the Mrs had, seemingly mere moments prior ; and just as her, he was limp and relaxed in their arms, dribbling indistinct juices impotently from all his useful holes.

Evidently someone had forgotten to lock the door, because as he came down from the first elation incumbent in the intoxicating taste of quite so forbidden fruits as these, Mr. Dilworthy became dimly aware of his wife being quite thoroughly used in the same manner as himself, for one, and of significant changes in the tools probing both his uvula and prostate, not merely as to shapes and sizes but also in style, and rhythm and countenance generally. He had an overpowering sense of fullness, and then after a time he couldn't readily quantify he also had the sensation of travelling and being moved, on his own feet as well as in some kind of vehicle or other, perhaps a number of them really, and of breeze, and open air, and sun upon his skin, and dampness of cellar walls, and various textiles, and plastics, perhaps rugs, or bedsheets, or maybe park benches or who even knows.

Neither Mr nor Mrs. Dilworthy were ever heard from again, so take indeed good heed, kind reader, afore signing up with your esteemable wife to such offerings as "How to Gangbang Your Wife", be it a course by mail-order or otherwise, lest you suffer the same fate as poor Mr. Dilworthy's!

MP's guide to getting crabs

So I went to a nice place in the middle of nowhere. Because hey, what's the point of pristine nature, great beaches, jungle untouched by the axe of man, great views etcetera if you're not going to have your grappa and San Pelegrino and imported rum and cigars and on it goes, a lengthy list ?

Here, let's get on the same page :

Above, crocodile. He was quite friendly, and didn't even try to bite at all.

Below, nice place.

So we sit down, and the waitress wants to know how I learned Spanish. From girls, I tell her. She may not be particularly endowed, but sports a pretty smile if you look past the braces, and a great attitude. Attitude is pretty much the main thing, as you perhaps know, so I ask her where she learned English in exchange.

She admits that it was her novio, and she volunteers that she's got tired of it after three, almost four years. He did take her to see Florida (but not Europe), and he even showed up every 22 days to novio all over her! I propose that's kinda not enough for a young woman, and she agrees -- by the way if you're starting to get antsy let me put your itch to rest : the crabs are coming.

So I ask her if she'd like to go out with us, which she would, brings us free cake, does some research, finds the only thing happening that night anywhere there (karaoke, but of course) and so on.

Let's continue with the visuals. Underneath, the sea. Above, the girl. In between, the crabs.

Time for a short interlude, while I show you the birdy.

You have to be ready first.

Are you ready first ?

Alright, here goes...

The next thing is going to be... the birdy!

No, seriously.

Here :

Tee hee.

But let's continue our detour, down to the very beach depicted above :

Isn't it romantic ?

Not depicted, the cunnyrub bench, somewhere further up the path. It's glorious, basically a bench overlooking a three hundred meter drop through the jungle into the ocean, where you can spread your knees and rest your back while I play with your clit.

Care are clit. Cacare n-are...

But anyway, enough peristalsis, let's get to the crabs. Here you are :

Above and below : craci, the crabby habitat. Do you know how "to spread your knees" goes in Romanian ? I bet you don't. Or rather -- I bet you didn't.

Above and a coupla below : spurious beach shots. Because I can, cun't I.

Finally we are ready to get crabs in earnest.

The first thing you need to get crabs (the MP way) is an erect stick.

It doesn't have to be very big, nor does it have to be all that straight. It's even ok if it's wet.

You grab it firmly in hand, and you apply it insistently into the crack. As depicted :

Eventually you extract the crab. You can place it where hair goes, such as for instance your hat. The legs are naturally scarlet.

Above : further spurious beach shots. Ain't it pretty tho ?

Below : spot the lifeform. Tip : it's slippery and wet. Pro tip : schlllllurrrp.

Above : crab not yet got awaits its getting. Take hold of your stick and stuff it in the hole.

Below : Yes.

Above : tree impersonates reptile.

Below : I don't have have ni puta idea what the fuck this is. It appears rather like what some aliens might imagine a totally unremarkable earthling fly-bug-thingee might look like, because they read so in their bok. The damn thing ~actually flies~, too! Anyone know what this is ?

Antigoat tree waves you good-bye. So do I.

PS. I am happy to report Rae is well on her way to enslavement ; which she's both aware of, perfectly happy with, and entirely unaware of. How does she manage this ? She's female, what!

Sunday, 03 June, Year 10 d.Tr.

MP at Arenal, 2003 - 2018 (Caution : Steps in de crease!)

Many years ago I climbed up the Arenal volcano with Chet. She was alive back then ; and the volcano was active.

We got to see rivulets of lava cutting up the night seemingly right across the street from our motel room (except it wasn't exactly a motel room, nor was it on a street -- where the asphalt would have went were I you there were instead just a string of butterfly bushes to be found, crawling with colibris in the morning. They chased each other and clicked.) We also got to ride the horses uphill on lava, and see the canopy from above, and many other things.

It was a good year.

Above, as below : the topmost layer of jungle biomass, as it could be seen back then. Occasional cables and such hierramentas are also visible -- one doesn't simply go into the canopy.

Putting the leaf in diaphanous and the tree in mystery!

Below, the river, which we vaguely heard at the time has a waterfall somewhere. We never got to see it, there wasn't time, there wasn't really the inclination to push any further, there wasn't any room left, our wonderment stomachs fully distended with the already swallowed fodder...

It is strange what you remember, and what you forget. There's little in the sort of detail one always finds on Trilema about these pictures. Yet "I remember them clearly". I regret not having had Trilema back then ; but then again when I was in my twenties there didn't exist anything like an example to follow in this vein. I simply did not know, it never occured to me I would regret such a thing.

Above : a view from on high. We're in the present now, as you perhaps guessed. Yet where is it from ?

It is taken from the bridge below. On our way we went by the tower you can observe, and the innocent inquiry whether "hey, you wanna stop here ?", driven plainly enough by standing orders that we'll evaluate any amenties & amusements as may be offering themselves to the traveler on Costa Rica's roads just as long as they're sensiblei.

"No way!" came the well felt, visceral reaction. You see, many years ago I was in a group that nearly fell with a large, spacious, military helicopter. Out of sheer fortune the drop restarted the turbine and we didn't actually pancake, but for a few hundred meters the circumstance was overwhelmingly intense. At some point subsequent I discovered I had actually developed, on the quiet, a marked fear of some kinds of heights. It goes by specific movement and specific geometric relations, it's quite clearly driven by image complex recognition somewhere in the lower brainstems (the sort of process plenty of people call "thinking" and live their entire lives happily not learning the difference). So of course we went. Somewhat, at least, but what can you do ? A little bit each day.

Above : BartholoMeW left way, way in the distance (I think it may also fear heights -- or at the very least stairs).

Below : the rickety bridge in question. It... it... IT SWAYS!

Above : it's called rainforest, yes, tropical but still very wet. This'd be the reason (a view from the same high place).

Below, a plain road bridge, but with a twist : it's floored with metal grating, which (while perfectly safe) permits one to view the ground underneath. It moves while you move! And the bridge sways with traffic, and good god!

Above, as below : closer shots of the same bridge and of its driving river.

Above, a plant. What, problem ? This is exactly how plants go, what did you think ? It's totally inconspicuous and everything.

Below, for a stretch : the sights of the mysterious Palmares-Atenas derivationii which we finally managed to find. This'd be the scenic South-West "yellow" (ie, crappier road) Atenas-27 connection, rather than the "red" (ie somewhat better road) South-Eastern link.

It looks just like fucking Alba, dunnit!

Above as below, the lake at the foot of Mt Arenal.

Above as below, a toucan fellow that lived in the tree outside my very door. No kidding.

Above : derelict "butterfly reservation" (Costa Rica is chock full of these, to the degree it's a standardized item of development here, like a veranda say).

Below : the view from same. Isn't it interesting what the contribution of humanity upon Earth actually looks like, when so contrasted ?

Above : the exact sky tram that also figures in the above pictures from a different time. Everything's exactly the same, except the girlies attending it.

Below : a tree of leaves.

Above, below, and for a while yet : shots from the same place.

And yet the leaf always comes back to lyf!

Yup, we found the catarata this time around! Majestic cocksucking location, by the way, and also a fabulous spot for candid nudes I won't be publishing.

The trail includes some bridges. The one depicted above is quoted in the map shown below as 3rd : 143 meters long, 70 meters high. Yep, it also sways.

Breakfast joint. Their smoothies were quite passible, and in the environment altogether enjoyable. Just kick your feet up and suck the batido down!

Above, very shy yellow tailed bird. He had a peculiar call, but avoided the camera like the salvation of his very soul depended on it.

Below, cows. Rather typical for the region, I'd say.

Above, white nosed cuati. They're pestilentially common around the tourist traps, a sort of slower, more contemplative raccoon really.

Below, the card of a grandiose breakfast place in La Fortuna, along with a magazine. As to the place : I bought a couple of chocolate bars up on the mountain, because they had no more than that couple. The girls located the producer for me, and I bought a half dozen more -- because, etcetera. This'd be them, the chocolate factory cum epic breakfast joint, I heartily recommend.

The magazine... oh lordy, how shall we explain it. Basically, the overwhelmingly competent Orchid people produced everything on my elaborate list of demandsiii and eventually even a magazine!

The magazine in question being The Howler, printed by gringos for gringos. Above as below, the avatars of being a gringo.

Let it be stated plainly that I do not fault the locals for this in any way. It's really not upon them.

Consider that in spite of all the idiocies they spew, the old style family structure, with the grandparents and the dumber brother and the etcetera Scamwickkk is what they nevertheless desire, and whenever possible reconstruct. I deem the item above a very important archeological find, in that it stands for, speaks of, and by, and for, and ultimately symbolizes a culture. This, rather than anything else, is what post-empire white means.

Below, my breakfast. Excellent tomato soup (served at 9 in the morning, because yes, I say when), smoked salmon in pannini, banana batido with vanilla (can you put vanilla in it ? sure!) and I forget what all else. I left the place as distended as a tick (and left the hat behind, but they gleefully volunteered to keep it company for a little while until I come back for it).

Above as below, items of interest related to the almighty cocoa bean. Notice how the lot number is written by hand in pen, yes ?

100%. Accept no substitties.

And with that, our trip comes to an end. I hope you've had as much fun as me, for I sure as fuck intend to have all the funs in the world.

Why not, rite ?

———Many places advertise Western-style items at the end of unadvertised Mongol-style "roads". There are also the occasional duds, "reservations" that look more like US "Indian reservations" cca 1918 (utter shitholes of unhappy poverty, for the innocent) than tourist attractions. [↩]San Jose has a major North-Western problem : Heredia (and to a lesser but very present degree, Alajuela). These are small townships integrated in the larger metropolitan area and populated in great concentrations by idle idiotic drones trying to live "the dream" with cars and office jobs. You know, "the dream". The extras getting ready to play their alloted role of zombies in the coming soon to a mall near you zombie-killing future.

As the (pretty much only) palpable result of the continued befouling of the New World by the spurious idiocies of the aspirational class, there's some terrible traffic jams stretching for miles within a dozen or two miles around the abominable horrors.

Consequently, while you may not care whether you're draining back towards town from the North or North-West via the 1, or the 3, you absolutely, necessarily, always want to actually go into Santa Ana on the 27, and not on those two. The Coyol derivation is the usual venue for this Southern switch, but the maps also indicate an earlier cutoff, the mysterious Palmares-Atenas derivation, which we never managed to find before (because it's well fucking hidden, why else). [↩]Have I ever recounted that anecdote of 5yo MP traveling (by airplane!) for the first time to the (Romanian) seaside, and going to the restaurant there (with his parents) and upon being served soup inquiring where the hell is the cream !? This is late communist Romania, you understand, most kids starved, MP couldn't comprehend wtf is wrong with someone serving Supa Ardeleneasca without cream.

The staff scared up a dollop of fine cream (not the sweet crap for desserts, the sour item normal people aka very few folk in a very narrow mountaineous valley ecosystem eat!) for me I know not whence, which I accepted with the majestic grace of Charles Grandet eating his pheasant little nothing.

The many intervening years have sadly not sensibly improved on this already shaky basis, I have lists of demands. [↩]

Moron

Exceptionally, the title of this article is exactly descriptive of the content thereof, except not in this language. As you perhaps intuited, we will be discussing the vegetable list.

First and foremost, the moron, which is how the locals call a nice red bell pepper. I confess the name has caught with me, because English is silly. If you call it "pepper" simply it's impractically ambiguousi and too many times you end up delivered the pepper mill. If you go to all the trouble of saying red pepper you might miss out on the perfectly fine pale orange ones. It's just... it's a dumb name for Ardei, what do you want from me. Moron it shall be henceforth.

So, this fine country that does fruit exceedingly well -- far above and beyond any other land I've visited, and consider I'm an Old World European that comes from the lands of perfect fruit, like say if you were from the 50s and from New Jersey or something, it's not entirely clear how to translate eighty centuries of Iranian horticultural practice into the forms comprehensible to the ESL-er -- nevertheless does vegetables middling-poorly. How could such a wonder be ? I don't know, but it can, somehow, because it fucking does.

The Moron is pretty much the only really good item. Their broccoli, arugula, artichoke, asparagus and so following are supermarket-okay, and evidently imported. The tomatoes are terrible, universally and ubiquitously, and it's a sad fate indeed, proper Italian canned sauce is actually better than what you can produce out of the fruits of the local earth! Olives don't grow here, cucumbers they don't understandii. The various gourds are okay, I guess, but I never really liked them. The girls mostly do, which is nice -- for them. But what does it do for me ?

Fortunately the eggplants import well, along with cauliflower (speaking of which, do you know what is the difference between a conopida and a coropisnita ?) and things like that, but seriously now... Mushrooms don't grow here, at any rate nothing you'd eat, so I'm stuck with these gallon jars of dried French stuff imported by Roland (do you know Roland, btw ? Because if you don't you haven't travelled). Their onions are actually very good (and they're very proud of them too, poor dears, they have like yearly onion festivals and whatnot, you'd think you're in Oregon) but just how much onion can a person eat ?!

The corn is terrible, by the way, they use this original strand I guess, the kernels widely spaced apart and the fructose content deeply insufficient. I miss the Romanian hybridized stuff, believe it or not, the corn here is barely worth putting on the embers.

Everything else is canned, peas, naut, beets and so following. The beans are ok, I guess, but they don't really have enough sense to sell fresh green beans, all they have are these tiny black guys, which are ok for many things but not all -- I can't make refried beans for lack of the big white ones, for instance! Cabbage is I guess ok, but of course they don't know about pickling it, so I have to import it all the way from Saxony! They have great celery, but they only sell the stalks, which is ridiculous (then again they also don't know what soup is, not really). And of course they sell raw sugar cane, if sugar needs a caning I suppose, as I've not been able to find any other uses for it (and bamboo is better at the task anyways).

How's your day been ?

———There's nothing wrong with ambiguity in principle, but then only. [↩]Cucumbers have to be picked early, before they seed. The locals evidently imagine cucumber's just another kind of gourd, so they let them grow to sizes vaginally incomfortable and consequently orally unpalatable.

What, you didnt know that's the criteria ? Let me tell you sonny -- barbatii au doua capete, iar femeile au doua guri. [↩]

Morning coffee ocean side

One of the more directly striking priviledges of my priviledged position probably is that I can say "we're going to the beach", and then women scurry forthwith to prepare provisions and arrange arrayed accoutrements of filthy luchre ; and then the car flies at 130 kmph through the night while Leonard Cohen derps on about how "democracy is coming" through the exceptionally accomplished acoustic system before alighting me by the oceanside just as the Sun wakes up.

What fucking democracy ? There is no such thing. There can be no such thing. Reality is strictly this situation where the stars belong to me, and gladly, even if for lack of alternative.

These guys... they build entire complicared cities of little sand balls. They're shy, and careful, and we ran across a severed pincher today. It's sad, you know ?

Yet what can you do.

"He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave"...

I broke all my legs, and the company drowned, and hurt, and variously suffered. It was a glorious day at the beach! And we gifted the little fellows living there one pea, and a small slice of fine bell pepper (red), and a little bit of orange peel (which was briefly inspected and readily discarded as uninteresting -- even hermits have standards!).

And it occurs to me, that we're by a very far margin the only people who don't need a professional excuse to be in the water. Not boats, not surfboards, can just splash happily in the wake, jumping waves and having no "good reason" to be there, no prop as an excuse, nothing at all. What fucking democracy, I ask you again ? The world is neatly split among they who need an excuse to be here and they who do not, what more is there to it ?!

You possibly remember this guy from before.

They build whole cities, on the beach. Then the sea surges and wipes them out. Then they build them again. Whole secret civilisations of crabs, leaving their own fake jesus signs in the sands, marks and markings of meanings inconsequential. What of it ?

I don't really know what to tell you, other than "life's not for everybody", which it most pointedly isn't.

Yet here we are ; and so it goes.

Moonstruck

Moonstrucki re-does the same trite old story of say Terms of Endearment : that by the 1970s actual men were nowhere to be found, disappeared to be replaced with some despicable sort of cvasi-boyish fungus.

Why the fuck would anyone take a lover that's a lesser woman than his wife at home ? Leaving aside the more pointedly plain and duly obvious "why the fuck would anyone not introduce the younger to the elder, 'here, she is your mistress, kiss her feet' ?", ambiguously, like men do, leaving aside the proper form and substance of manhood, how about an answer as to the smallest possible token of non-idiocy ? Who takes a lover that's less than his wife!

Who asks his fiance to patch things over with his younger brother he fears ?! Who the fuck flies over to be with his mommy as if it's somehow no longer women that follow camp wherever camp goes or else die alone in the woods like the animals that they necessarily are for having failed to follow camp like women must ?! Who the fuck produces the contorted reasoning of "Mr." Johnny Cammareri, whereby telling his mother of his engagement produced a miraculous healing and therefore actually going through with the implicit marriage would mean the mother will die ? Think of it, doesn't it stand to the plainest logic that if the woman came back from the dead at hearing of the engagement it'd be the breaking of it that'll undo the miracle ? But then again, an incapacity for logic is the fundament of the neotenic abominations, isn't it.

Moonstruck has no Jack Nicholson to do it with, and no Danny deVito either, but then again Cherilyn Sarkisian is actually quite the competent actress and she holds up some beautiful scenes. Cage is utterly retarded, and I mean this without remainder -- much like the case of Brad Pitt he's only fit to play golums and other accidentally-animated objects. Fortunately the director has the intelligence to cast him in quite such a role -- because Johnny's a soggy mop therefore Loretta ends up fucking a perambulating dildo, that's the whole story. Poor Loretta...

Moonstruck doesn't have the Arthur Miller / Emile Zola -ian carnality of pressed smegma and liquefied puss that Terms of Endearment unabashedly oozes. It is altogether more Proustian an affair, filthy in a dessicated, crumbly manner ; yet it argues just as convincingly for the obliteration of the entire failed Petri dish. The truth about art is that it always finds it very difficult to elude the truth, whatever be its auctorial intention.

As you perhaps intuit, I fully sympathize with the sentiment. There's altogether no reason to continue the experiment, simply burn down the entire angloworld and start over at a moment well prior to this failed "civilisation".

———1987, by Norman Jewison (seriously now), with Cher, Danny Aiello, Nicholas Cage. And Nadja Despotovich, fancy that wonder. Jewison and Despotovich made a movie about New York life. [↩]

Miscellaneous

Work on specifying a client-server protocol is ongoing. What can you do to help ?

———Due to recent changes in the crafting profession (really, unrolling an overearly modification), game activity went up immensely -- the past 48 hours saw more ECu value processed than the whole month of April, for instance. The variation in pool levels, while apparently significant when compared to previous months, it is in fact rather modest when compared to the outsized custom involved. [↩]The figure does not match the pool evolution above because players bought a lot of skills and some trader goods. [↩]For clerical reasons we're no longer issuing warrants monthly ; nevertheless employee compensation package remains in force, and we intend to issue 12 months' worth of warrants for E72DCCB73A5E06694C5CD781D5196EE6390F999E on January 2019. Miscellaneous

As you might've noticed, Minigame doesn't currently have a server -- which makes all sorts of things not work, from logging in to play the game to subdomain name delegation.

The causes of this sad state of affairs are two-fold. On one hand, Bitpay decided to finally perpetrate the switch portion of its long-running bait-and-switch scam so typical of the USG-driven "technology" "companies". It consisted of replacing Bitcoin with an unadvertised altcoin of their own concoction. Needless to say this left stranded all sorts of politically-myopic operators who thought they were accepting Bitcoin but really were simply giving themselves tied into the hands of the enemy. On the other hand, replacement management called in to reinforce Bingoboingo's Oriental Republic outfit is still cutting its teeth in the enchanted world of adult business, making all sorts of greenhorn mistakes along the way.

By their powers combined, these circumstances placed us in the unenviable position of not having an online presence for the last half of March and, expectedly, the first half of April. The current plan is that one of the Pizarro principals is flying over there mid-April to remedy in one fell swoop both the sorely longstanding No Such lAbs darkness as well as the more recent Minigame issues. Consequently I approved the CTO's vacation ; upon her return mid-April we are going to get the server back up. It will be a much better machine than the previous item in purely Imperial terms, not to mention it will have a pair of FGs installed, making it the only honest game server in the history of online gaming, period and full stop.

Otherwise, work on the specification for client-server communications is ongoing ; I hope to have something published this month, meaning third party client development can actually begin in earnest at that point! And, of course, we're still looking for talented people willing to put that talent to work.

———Meh. [↩]This value became momentarily unreportable, as we currently don't have a server and it's not worth my time to dig it out of backups. Once we're online the first report will de facto include catch-up values ; to assuage any panicard tendency in the meanwhile I can firmly state movement was under a Bitcoin (as per usual), and player holdings stood at 138.13 or thereabouts. [↩]For clerical reasons we're no longer issuing warrants monthly ; nevertheless employee compensation package remains in force, and we intend to issue 12 months' worth of warrants for E72DCCB73A5E06694C5CD781D5196EE6390F999E on January 2019. Work on specifying a client-server protocol is ongoing. What can you do to help ?

———Yeah, that's right, last month was showing nothing yet.

It's true we're somewhat far from the historical peak of 318.22 BTC worth of pool load ; but we did claw one third of the way back there or so this month. [↩]Yeah, that's right, in excess of two billion coins. Ouch.

For the record, aggregate player activity exceeded 50 bn ECu this month, the largest single month by very far in the entire history of the game (the top three being September 2016 with a little over 32 bn and December 2015 with almost 30bn -- both values float-adjusted). [↩]Check that rare and radiant wonder, green on the shareholder equity line!

As previously announced we're issuing this month stock warrants for two fellows whose contribution in the field of theoretical work nevertheless proved most useful to Minigame in the most practical of senses (and to the broader Republican community, at that, such as for instance through unearthing the issues hinted at by No Such lAbs' report for July as well as in myriad ways yet known or in the future to be discovered). Along with these go our most heartfeltly sincere thanks.

Otherwise, work is ongoing, also in myriad ways yet hinted but mostly in the future to be discovered.

Provisional statement, will be considered accepted within 24 hours. Make any observations or corrections below.

Miscellaneous

Sadly it appears that both December and January reports were actually incorrect, in that they include the wrong figure in the cash movement line (but not in result!) ; that the error was glaring, especially last month, yet somehow nobody seems to have noticed is concerning.

In any case, work continues undaunted, and we are fast approaching that magical moment.

———We've made some commitments to Pizarro, which will yield marginally more powerful, significantly more trusted (and perhaps even cheaper) machinery. [↩]We've axed some parts, and the Bitcoin recovered to some degree, so... [↩]As this keeps growing you could almost say the players must be on to something!

The first four chapters of the previously announced basic building block for future Eulora have been releasedv on schedule (1 - 2 - 3 - 4) ; work is ongoing.

———An extremely strong and ever strengthening Bitcoin continues to relentlessly errode our expense accounts. We dropped a further 26% on top of last month's 22%. [↩]If you think about it, players making a quarter Bitcoin (ie 5k worthless fiats or whatever it comes to) net profit in a month is not even terrible on the Internet scale of things! [↩]Remarkably stable! [↩]For clerical reasons we're no longer issuing warrants monthly ; nevertheless employee compensation package remains in force, and we intend to issue 12 months' worth of warrants for E72DCCB73A5E06694C5CD781D5196EE6390F999E on January 2019. [↩]And I very much recommend them to the attention of both veteran and newcomer. [↩]
