yes, if you click "Reject" on awards it'll be removed from your accepted list. you can always add it back later. Wording/UX here is a bit bad, will improve it next week.

good thing about them is that they are entirely optional. if you don't want them to show on your profile you can just remove them or not accept them.
Showing 8 badges tops here, pick them wisely.
An alternative would be to use npub to log in and only ask for nsec if the user wants to sign an event. I think is worse UX though. Can't make everyone happy.

Only asking for people that cant log in with extension but want to log in and create badges or accept them. I'm encouraging them to use Alby. How can they log in and do that without extension? Also all the code is open source.

we are planning to have different "tiers" of badges in https://badges.page depending on NIP-13 PoW difficulty, adding PoW is a nice way to add "rarity" to badges imo.
