Yeah, the incentives are a strongly discouraging. And then since it's all a transparent ledger, you would want to be extra super careful about your digital footprint if you do something criminal that will be enshrined in the ledger forever.

ordinals is a massive nothing burger except its a nuisance to put garbage on the blockchain. The novelty will wear off soon. The stunt with the huge 4mb block recently isn't something that will become common place. As someone said, probably Udi and Erica payed a huge sum off-chain for the shitcoin miner to pull that off and crowd out all the txns. They'll have to burn alot of capital to DDOS the blockchain for a long period.
