自由閪。Defund the system! Passionate about privacy, encryption and ⚡️bitcoin. Forbidden lands, forgotten empires. Hong Kong is my home.

Touching grass today

Thoughts on the new Vancouver Bitdevs logo (left) and the Vancouver Noderunners (right)? Both are monthly in-person events that I plan to move from Meetup to Luma.

It’s super easy to run a #Lightning⚡️node and open a channel. The hard part is finding a reason or opportunity to use it.

Indeed quite easy to set up: BIP 353 Lightning Address: leonhard@weese.ws

It’s organized through Container Brewing, which takes sats at their main location! Definitely check them out! Lots of places on BTCMap too!

We do have two butchers that take sats, but one is only reachable by car and neither are great. Will have to do more work onboarding a good one. But we do have a farmer selling chickens for sats, he comes into town once a month

Delivered to my door, fresh vegetables, bread and beer from local producers. The farm to table #Lightning⚡️ economy. Vancouver can be really great

Meetup, com is raising its annual fees for organizers (the most basic tier) to US$360. I’ll definitely give up the three groups that I’m currently managing, but should I migrate elsewhere or simply rely on word of mouth?

The most beautiful train in the world, passing Burnaby Lake, heading for Toronto

Trying to use Bitcoin can at times be very demotivating 😪

All I’d need at the moment is for BTCPay to improve its reporting feature so I can find out how many tips I collected in a given period, plus to fix their checkout page.

Everyday I’m impressed how stable and mature LND and the tools around it have become. Running a node no longer requires expert knowledge or constant maintenance, and even with just one channel, payments rarely fail. Worth a shoutout to all the internal and external contributors👏

Yes, what setup would you recommend a merchant to use to accept Lightning payments?

But in BTCPay Server you can’t find out how many tips you got. As I said above, the fact that you don’t know that shows you don’t use. Sorry to be harsh

All I’d need is the option to voluntarily overpay a payment request, similar to how credit card terminals will beg you for a 10%, 15% or 20% tip

Can’t handle tips:

- Wallet of Satoshi

- Blink

- BTCPay (if you claim otherwise you clearly have never used it)

- Lifpay

- Phoenix

- Neutronpay

- Aqua

Can handle tips:

- Coinos

- Ibex

- LNBits

Not a lot of choice when trying to onboard a North American hospitality business with Lightning.

Two identical blueberries, one sold by weight, the other by volume. How are markets supposed to work if people can’t compare prices? How much does a blueberry weigh by volume?

A good convenience store in a high trust society doesn’t need doors.
