Hell no they don’t, because most probably wouldn’t sign if they knew how invasive everything was.
They should do all of this, but they won’t as long as they don’t have to. It’s up to us at the end of the day, we vote with our attention and they just take whatever we give them.
I’d say people like us are a good start, using protocols like Nostr to back away from these fucked up norms we’ve created in society.
It’s just hard to fully pull out of the system- I shouldn’t, but I still use YouTube, Google maps, chrome, Gmail, etc. Convenience and privacy are weighed on the same scale and it just depends on how much you value one vs the other.
They should make it far more transparent than just skipping to the bottom of a page with 10,000 words and agreeing to terms.
