Ignore the noise, the US Financial System is in big trouble and perhaps they are much bigger than you can imagine.
There are two main reasons for this:
1st depositors can now get much higher returns on other investments, which leads to a significant outflow of deposits from banks.
For the first time in 15 years the market in the US pays returns of 4-5%.
2nd The banks have bought low paying Treasuries, and with the interest rate hike they can only sell them at a loss. This leaves the bank in a precarious situation, especially the small regional banks.
And there are $5.5 trillion deposited in them!
SVB may not be the only one with this problem, and then the FED's $25 billion plan to rescue depositors looks like a drop in the bucket.
If the withdrawals at different banks continue, there will be no liquidity and the cascading effect could generate a run on the #bankrun banks.
This is one of the reasons why #Bitcoin is rising. It is better to leave your money in a non-confiscable asset than to lose it all in a failed bank. Also, this banking problem has shown the Fed what the risks are of raising the interest rate even higher. #ToTheMoon
