NextDNS messes with iMessage, with App Store, actually lots of Apple services suddenly aren’t working (even though blocklist or log is empty!). Also some of random, normal, regular websites are broken. Getting to old for that. It would be great if NextDNS would work but it just doesn’t for me.
Tried for 100th time to use NextDNS on router and all our devices but it messes with so much that I can’t actually rely on it. 1.1.1.1 it is.
Leather case. On the left - new, dark blue (I ordered black one but fine). On the right - green one after 10 months. I’m returning the right one because something tells me that is NOT supposed to be happening.
COVID is a bitch, unfortunately. Tests are negative, but everything else tells me it’s it. Took me 3,5 years to get one!
Just found out that it’s already been two years since I’ve bough SIM card for iPad Air and because of that, for 29 pln (roughly $7) I’ve got 180GB of 5G data. 180GB, $7. Polish internet prices are just awesome.
iPhone 14 Plus - 6,5h of screen on time and still 54% of battery left. This is unbelievable.
And because we are humans and we like to click buttons, there are buttons! One button in the bed frame to turn everything into sleep mode, control panel with 6 buttons in pairs to control temperature, blinds and lights. It became so natural that I really miss it when away from home.
Adding sound system was the right idea too at one point. HomePods and Sonos are right combination. It sucks to have multiple smart speakers in the same rooms but if you can - it’s just the easiest way. We treat HomePods (minis!) as Siri interface only. Sonos as TV + music system is unbeatable.
I mean - house lights up at exactly right moment, voice assistant (Siri) isn’t that bad, home tries to always keep just right temperature and blinds are giving exact light to privacy (or sun blockage!) ratio that we like. It’s just amazing how it works when it works without an issue.
I don’t feel like doing new smart-home stuff after my adventure of setting up heating, lights, security system in place. Had it automated for a long time and everything feels perfect. I’m really glad that I did what I did back then because it’s just effortlessly seamless for both of us.

I wish Apple’s mail.app wouldn’t just make my mac hot-af whenever I’m trying to use it. It’s the only app that makes mac unbearable hot and literally unusable. Tried #Thunderbird and #Mailmate but both of these lack conversation view like in gmail/mail.app.
