Muting doesn’t prevent everyone else from seeing it, only yourself.

Zapvertisements refer to the top zap on a note appearing as the first comment under the note, which is a new feature in Damus testflight. So someone can zap a note with an image or anything attached and have it appear under someone’s note as the first comment kind of like an ad. Anytime someone opens a note to read the comments, the first thing they’ll see is the Zapvertisements

Yeah I don’t actually care that much, it was just a hypothetical.

Just means it's not pruned. Currently I run only a pruned node meaning it only holds the last 200GB of the blockchain. An archival node holds the entire blockchain.

This is also why I got a 2TB drive. Currently the full chain is just over 500GB but I want this to be futureproof.

As well as helping the network more, there's things you can do with an archival node that you can't do with a pruned one, e.g. run Electrum X and Mempool.

I plan to run Electrum, Mempool, and BTCPayServer on this.

What if I do not want my account susceptible to any “business”advertising under my notes? Zapvertisements should be opt in. Lets say, for example, someone is selling illegal drugs and to get a wider reach they begin zapvertising, now I have a photo of illegal drugs attached to my post that (I think) I can’t get rid of.

A potential solution - gaming the system by setting the floor. Because only the top zap shows, a user can zap themselves a ton of sats, setting a floor that zapvertisers will have to cross in order for their zap to show.

It would be nice if it was not only optional for the ads to show under your note, but to actually set a floor price in settings. i.e., “zaps will only show on notes if over _____ sats”

This would help eliminate spam zapvertisements, and gives the user more control over what is shown on their post and how much they think they should be getting paid for someone else advertising on their note
