your follow list is your group, iris atleast allows you to copy others lists but much better tools need to be made, ie having multiple lists

the truncated npubs coming out of the bridge dont work with nostr clients

are you using nostr much? it seems a lot of the bitcoin people are back on twitter and iris is quite broken for me and others, so i use amethyst now

random reads are fine, writes are not, they work great for backups and media storage
if you wanted to use one for torrents you would need another cmr drive to download to then copy from that to the smr, most torrent apps support this
smr drives hate checks and especially defrag, you need to wipe them and restore all the files, also keep a big chunk of space free
most do label smr and cmr with something
smr drives work great if you only write in continuous chunks, ie whole files, reading is no issue
