The beautiful part of nostr is nostr:npub1lqs30x7466guvx6r2cek8z9d4hpucycy7j08wx58cwx70m206q3qrscejr didnt have to ask Will, Vitor, Miljan to add his find and delete stale npub tool to their apps.

Yeg made his own tool, without asking fiatjaf for permission, and his tool is interoperable with all the other nostr dev apps.

To put this in perspective think of how feasible it is for a non company dev to build something compatible with twitter, or any walled bigco. Also think of all the dev ideas that dont make it past the central planning committee.

Nostr is an unbounded sandbox where you dont need permission to play.

I came here through no choice of my own. Check.

I will encounter suffering. Check.

Whether I am miserable is largely up to me. I can choose to try to develop a state of mind where I understand the “why” of suffering, and develop a belief and philosophy that allow me to compartmentalize it and experience joy separately from it. This allows a great deal more than just “life sucks and then you die”.

This engages a question:

We can all agree that 1+1=2 as being truth.

But how do you define truth when it comes to emotions/ideas/beliefs? How can we find collective agreement on matters pertaining to religion, politics, culture etc? Who gets to dictate whose free speech about any ideology is true and whose is false?
