My theory on food is that all food can be improved by adding cheese or chocolate (although I normally only eat chocolate that is >85% cocoa and normally >90%). I have a drawer devoted to cheese in all 3 of my refrigerators. I understand the desire to eat a block of cheese.
The IRS (government theft department) says it is creating a whole new organization to go after pass through entities in order to go after the wealthy. The pass through entities they will investigate include general partnerships, sole proprietorships, limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships, limited liability companies, and S Corporations. The majority of all of these categories are small businesses. It is easy to go after a small business because they can't afford expensive lawyers to fight the government tyrants, therefore the staff will end up going after small businesses for the easy wins. The mega-rich have lawyers that will cost the bureaucrats lots of time and may even get the businesses off completely. Bureaucrats almost always follow the path of least resistance and therefore small businesses are going to be harassed and even destroyed by these bureaucrats.
This is one more example of the government destroying the little guy while saying they are going after the mega-wealthy. This is one more example of the government causing more harm than good. This is one more example of the government saying one thing to the public, but doing another and most of the public knows so little about how businesses really work that they believe the government lies.

The secret of tyranny is to teach people to never look for the truth, but to just receive it from authority.
The secret to freedom is homeschooling the next generation so they never get indoctrinated.
The truth can rarely be communicated in a catch phrase or sound bite, but that is all most people have time for.
Last night I was reading "The Great Controversy", a book that my husband picked up at a library book sale. It was written in the 1880s. There is a lot of good Christian insight, although I don't agree with everything. This passage stood out to me last night. The second half about those who have refused God is the more moving part, but I thought the whole paragraph was needed for context.
Could those whose lives have been spent in rebellion against God be suddenly transported to heaven and witness the high, the holy state of perfection that ever exists there, -- every soul filled with love, every countenance beaming with joy, enrapturing music in melodious strains rising in honor of God and the Lamb, and ceaseless streams of light flowing upon the redeemed from the face of Him who sitteth upon the throne, --could those whose hearts are filled with hatred of God, of truth and holiness, mingle with the heavenly throng and join theri songs of praise? Could they endure the glory of God and the Lamb? No, no; years of probation were granted them, that they might form characters for heaven; but they have never trained the mind to love purity; they have never learned the language of heaven, and now it is too late. A life of rebellion against God has unfitted them for heaven. Its purity, holiness, and peace would be torture to them/ the glory of God would be a consuming fire. They would long to flee from that holy place. They would welcome destruction, that they might be hidden from the face of Him who died to redeem them. The destiny of the wicked is fixed by their own choice. Their exclusion from heaven is voluntary with themselves, and just and merciful on the part of God.

I don't want to eat genetically modified food, lab grown food, animal based food that has been given mRNA jabs, food sprayed/contaminated with chemicals, etc. I'd prefer that none of this exists, but I can accept it, as long as our food is labeled. I should know if my food is genetically modified. I should know that my pork was given mRNA jabs. I should know that my food was grown in a lab or farm raised (like farm raised shrimp/salmon/etc.). I should know if my food was sprayed with toxic chemicals, herbicides, and insecticides. They I can decide if I want to risk eating it based on quality and price. (Mostly if not always will choose NO). It is wrong that these things are snuck into our food. If it is as safe and wonderful as they tell us, they should be proud and bragging about it. The fact that the lobbyist work so hard to hide what is in our food strongly suggests they are doing bad/harmful things to our food.
I try to avoid this kind of thing by eating whole foods, organic foods, etc., but when they give mRNA jabs to organic pigs and genetically modify everything under the sun, I get frustrated. There is very little at the grocery store that I feel I can trust to be healthy.

When you can't explain away the crimes of you and your family, accuse those who exposed the crimes of wrongdoing as a distraction.
My husband and I were having a video conference with my son who is away at college. I asked for him to show his room, since I hadn't seen it. We commented that we didn't see anything on the walls and that he needed something on the walls. His reply was "What? like the Mandelbrot set?" I love my son, but he definitely isn't a typical teen.
FYI, he got math student of the year at a local community college for taking classes during highschool, so he is really good at math and really enjoys it. He also once had to do a group project in one of his math classes (calculus?). He came home and told me, "I just found out most people aren't as into math as I am." He is the ultimate logical guy. He views everything through math and logic. He understands things that most people don't, but has trouble with figures of speech that a 5 year old understands and he gets confused when people use bad grammar just like a computer given bad syntax. He is studying computer programming with a double major in math which is a perfect fit.
Since kids, I care about some things that I didn't before. I don't care about certain things that I used to care about a lot. I am more careful when doing dangerous things. I never used to think about what happened if something went wrong. I just assumed I could handle it (and usually could), but now that I have kids, I think "what happens to my kids if something happens to me? (death or disability)"
The only state with a shorter time between last freeze and first freeze is Alaska. The high was >80 F, but it went down to 29.9 F in the early hours this morning. Being dry, we can get huge swings between high and low.
This is why I always grow my tomatoes and peppers in pots. I can't get tomatoes (or at least any significant amount) before the first freeze. If I have them in pots, I can bring them in, produce for a couple months, then they get all leggy and produce little to no tomatoes, but when the days start lengthening, I get spring tomatoes. I start seeds and then replace the old tomatoes after a big flush.
I actually have twice had years when things went crazy and I've had tomatoes produce inside for 3 years even though they are supposed to be annuals. They will continue producing, but not as well as the first year.
In Wyoming, we are lucky to get a foot all year. In the summer through fall, we frequently get less than an inch, although this year we a little rain regularly into early August, so we are green compared to normal and some of our reservoirs, that are normally bone dry by July, still have water in them. Four feet annual rainfall sounds wonderful until I think about what happens with our elevation changes when we get a big rain.
When I lived in Florida, if you got an inch of rain, there was a little less than an inch of water everywhere because the land was flat. It also drained fast since the ground was mostly sand. In Wyoming, when we get an inch of rain, we get damaging runoff and lowlands can have more than a foot of water. There is one low spot on the interstate, that runs under 2 overpasses (one for cars and one for trains). There is no place for runoff to go. When we get a big rain, it is unpassable. I've learned to avoid the spot if we get any significant amount of rain (> 1/2 in).
Rain would definitely be appreciated. We actually got our first freeze last night. Luckily I keep all my tomatoes and peppers in pots and brought them inside yesterday. The weather forecast didn't predict a freeze, but we are in a river valley and sometimes the cold sinks into the valley and we get colder temperatures than in town. It's a good thing I trusted my intuition.
I just picked the rest of my green beans and cucumbers that were in decent condition today before they got totally wiped out by night freezes.
I don't know if it is the biggest threat, but I see flag idolatry as a major problem in the church. Many (Most?) Christians get way more upset at disrespect of the flag or failing to say the pledge than they do over someone using the Lord's name in vain or damaging a Bible.
I've come to the conclusion that saying the Pledge of Allegiance is sin and idolatry. We are told we can't serve to masters, so how can a Christian honestly pledge allegiance to the flag and to God? As the US government becomes more and more anti-God, this becomes more obvious than it used to be.
We used to have tons of wild rabbits (white tails & jack rabbits) around our home. There were times I could probably see as many as 50 in our yard. One night, when my husband was driving home, he hit 3 on the 3.5 mile drive down the dirt road to our home. Then suddenly a bunny plague hit and they just disappeared. They were just starting to have a comeback and the city dump started a fire which swept through the plains fueled by 60+ mph winds that wiped them out once again. We see m them every once in a while now, but even 8 years after the fire, we rarely see the rabbits anymore.
Whatever it takes to protect our kids from those who would do them harm.

Nice. I had to do some calculations to know what that means.
My son left for college at 6' tall (182 cm), which is the same as my husband. My husband still won't admit that our son is as tall as he is. The perverse part of me wants my son to come home for Christmas enough taller that my husband can't deny it anymore. Is that bad of me?
McCarthy Reverses Course, Maintains Ukraine Aid in Pentagon Funding Bill
From Sputnik
In a surprising shift, Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced he will keep $300 million in Ukraine aid within the Pentagon funding bill, going back on his earlier decision to remove it due to opposition from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).

It is more surprising that McCarthy agreed to remove it in the beginning than it is that he kept it in the bill in the end.
