nostr:npub14dnfw7t0y7fzd99cl4nzpu9vf9gpdc3mk4vzjyn4g223je3dngrq2uc95u so disappointing when accessibility is treated as a bolt-on afterthought instead of integral and necessary. (And no, I don’t personally require any accessibility tech — yet — beyond reading glasses.)

nostr:npub1dp8fnunws9ltkekgp3u8zyvmskp67lutmpa5e55r0dc93pt0472s37glmd the bit that’s endlessly frustrating to me is focus. On launch — or when command-tabbing back to them — apps often have no active window, making them deaf to keyboard commands. Or when returning to them they make a different window than you were last using active, so keystrokes become destructive. As a Mac user since 1990, this is beyond frustrating.

Another reboot fixed everything.

In which gait analysis is presented as something new (& without mentioning that it can easily be manipulated via stone-in-shoe, ill-fitting or heavily-worn footwear, or feigned limping — even Dune/Fatboy Slim walk-without-rhythm aka sandworm evasion): https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/footstep-authentication-unb-biometrics-1.6927261 #biometrics

nostr:npub1k6xlaqq6x3v2xx2ztvuza5maz5qf6vtcx2t4nwugdcmdw70arujs2c765k you posted recently wondering why you sometimes get passed over for speaking gigs. How often are overlay vendors sponsors? Can’t help wondering if you’ve been greylisted at some level. (Might be a sign that you’re having some impact.)

nostr:npub1k9mddhryfen5spctxqsvsc639ynx2wleghdwnqc5ju6ndrnwvx7spktej5 literally talked to a friend this evening who bought an iPhone 12 (?) mini today! The love is real (not shared by me, you understand, but I get it).

nostr:npub1yeaqtn9arzfplgefmlc39wkzdfgsyay949zs4jkgh7t8qgujaaaqfj3zln I also remember waiting ages for native Camera Raw file support whenever Canon (or Nikon, for those in that camp) released new hardware but refused to share the specs with “competitors” like Apple or Adobe.

nostr:npub1yeaqtn9arzfplgefmlc39wkzdfgsyay949zs4jkgh7t8qgujaaaqfj3zln it was dog-slow on my MacBook (or was it a PowerBook?!?) but I loved it.

nostr:npub1vgvmn0ax5n7qzynhzgz6jwnsrvm4rsyllwflm5ak93eysakj3kyqutm3nz sure, but in Apple’s defence, it’s maintained a rock-solid feature set for, like, a decade. #BecauseZeroImprovements 🤦‍♂️
