August 2016...

Those wokes are probably even more delusional today πŸ˜‚

Hey #[4]! So good to have you here! 😊

We have Schrodinger #hashtags in here. They work, but at the same time they don't. Looks like a client thing...

Search is very quantic too. It kind of works, but I might never understand it πŸ˜‚

Give it some time, Nostr is improving fast.

Welcome #[0] πŸ™‚

Would love to hear you more often, on more podcasts!

You mean "Open yourself up to being hacked FOR $8 ONLY!!" 😁

Twitter let you use an extremely unsecure 2FA method (text messages) if you pay the ransom.

But you can still use the safer ones (TOTP...) for free.

Okay, text messages 2FA is still better than no 2FA... But Twitter is dying anyways, so who cares πŸ˜„

Everything Bitcoin doesn't fix, it will seriously unhinge.

That's a good thing 😏

Maybe I'm stuck in an old mindset (probably πŸ™‚), but I'd rather use a client that shows number of followers, likes, etc.

Still a useful & fun metric IMO.

But I see the good part in your idea. I think I could change my mind at some point πŸ€”

A client that let users -optionally- hide those numbers, how about that?

Very good points in this thread! Made me realize I was using likes the same way #[4] does.

- giving them, when no need / no time for an articulated message

- seeing them, to identify users who usually share my POV and sometimes discover great follows

Likes keep discussions light and digestible, only people who actually have something to say usually post.

If the only way to weight in is to post a comment or zap, threads will get spammed AF and boring.

Regarding addiction to likes and need for acceptance, I think I'm with #[9] on this one. It's probably present among most humans, albeit at different levels.

IMHO more widespread but less toxic and less dangerous than gambling addiction. And Nostr being a fair playground with no algo manipulation (for now at least 😬), maybe it's not such a big deal.

Let them have πŸ’œ, let them give πŸ’œ πŸ€™
