It is your choice and if you decide to negotiate with someone who is murdered and rape your family members as a your choice - I will try to understand.

But it doesn’t mean that Ukraine should follow your path/ preferences.

Some men. We are out of the age of teenagers to think that someone is going to build a beautiful future for us. All western countries removed their diplomatic representatives on the 3rd day of the full russian invasion.

This is the fact - PoW. So it proves your theory of men in suits will help by themselves as false, pure nonsense.

Western countries right now are continuing to support Ukraine because of the threats of russian to the European countries and because Ukrainian people are fighting for their freedoms with a price of their lives.

For sure it is important to stop the war. But will your words stop the war to the person who attack you stop the war? What exactly do you propose?

So no even single argument from your side but just using low level conversation, repetition of the old propaganda of the authoritarian regimes against us, “warning” and shaming tactics to #bitcoin community.

Is this your way for the open dialogue?

Probably you didn’t do a proper research: old propaganda was dismissed in multiple countries and courts decisions. I doubt that you will read it but post it for our observers of the conversation as an important context. https://en.odfoundation.eu/foundation/attacks-on-the-open-dialogue-foundation/

So if someone starts bombarding your home and country, you will not defend yourself but just leave, right?

It is a choice: to fight back or to leave, isn’t it?

Maybe you should first move from your comfortable western country and rethink your judgement after trying to do something in the authoritarian jurisdictions.

We don’t need your advice how to defend our rights. You enjoy your freedoms because hundreds years ago someone gave their lives fighting for freedoms. So enjoy you laziness and use your slang words with someone else. I don’t welcome such low level of discussion.

Do you live in Ukraine? Or any other place with war conditions? Have tried in such places to organize anything? Im not speaking about elections even. We want to have elections but it is hard to do without electricity, water and under constant shelling and bomb attacks.

Can you please clarify: do you justify l bomb attacks on peaceful cities by Russians?

Maybe let’s start from your sources of the information. Have you been there in Donetsk in 2014?

We have been there and in Crimea too.

Our volunteers and observers were taken as a hostages and tortured by pro-russian forces. We recorded and witnessed Russian soldiers who never hide their affiliation but their uniforms were without identification. Happy to learn about your source of the information.

That is the only thing we can do. Thank you 🧡

Yes. Impossible to process even after all of these years of the war.

New year comes not always with good news.

Here's what the Open Dialogue Foundation office building in Kyiv looks like today after the Russian shelling and bombing.

Bankova street, center of Kyiv. December 31, 2024 VS January 1, 2025.

Question from the audience:

So how to use it if I open Nostr via Damus for example? ☺️🙈

Love ya nostr:npub13ajk3hhvqys2ev4y68jwxywgs8fsdsuk4y5gkzs874jdyrccvf5qak2yd9 but I didn’t know what time it was in Belgium! 🇧🇪 😆

Happy New Year! 🎆

☺️ thank you! Happy New Year and see you sometime next year 🧡💪🎄

I think it's a four-part problem: Woven together, but in roughly ascending order: 1: fear of reprisals. 2: the structure of the EU makes sure that what the people vote for doesn't matter that much for what laws are proposed and implemented. 3: fatigue. 4: people don't know the problems, don't know they can make a difference, and/or don't care.

Fear of reprisals is probably not a big factor when it comes to voting for the European Parliament, as it's - AFAIK - done anonymously. I guess there are countries that use voting machines or similar, that can't be trusted to preserve anonymity, but the majority doesn't know that. It is probably a bigger factor when it comes to communicating with the people in power, although probably not huge there either (see last point).

The only part of the EU that can be directly replaced through voting is the parliament. The commission is another step removed (I don't quite remember how it works, from Wikipedia it seems like the parliament elects them). The Council seems to rotate between the governments of member countries on a 6 month interval, once again according to Wikipedia.

Often, working to counteract the bad stuff the EU is doing seems like trying to make gravel of a mountain using a pick axe. At the same time the EU is adding another hundred thousand tons of mountain per year. Very few people are capable of giving their best in time and resources to such a project. Now, if there were millions doing it, it might be another story, but:

At least here in Sweden where I live, there is almost complete silence on most of the bad things that the EU proposes in the media. I think I heard ChatControl 2 mentioned once on the radio, since its inception (by Swedish EU commissioner Ylva Johansson, add to that) and only a quick overview of what it is and of course that it is "to protect the children". No mention of privacy, security, anything. I don't think people in general know a quarter of everything the EU is planning. And people in general also doesn't seem to be able to think even one step ahead, to what can be the consequences in the future. It also seems like most people either doesn't care, or, even those who complain, don't know that they can make a difference (probably partly due to previous point).

You are right, that majority of mainstream media is silent about violations of privacy, human rights and general freedoms. For this reasons it is very important to keep educating people and be aware about the ongoing regulatory process.

So we can prevent attacks, defend our freedoms and those who develop freedom tools.
